View Full Version : The Manic Street Preachers
I just got "The Holy Bible" the other day - and it's totally turned me on to the whole Richey James mystery/misery. Very interesting and pioneering band. I imagine they got largely overlooked because of Nirvana being such a big deal around the time when they were making their best stuff.
I had Lifeblood a couple years ago but never really got into them until now. "I Live to Fall Asleep" was good on that one though.

The Holy Bible was for me, and many others, their defining moment. That's the Manics. I got the anniversary edition a little while ago too, the US mix is pretty good. There's the obvious louder guitars and bigger drums, but it makes it all sound more powerful...on some of the tracks anyway.
But at that time, despite not being their most commercially successful moment, the Manics - live and on record - were fucking invincible!
Having said all that Lifeblood is the only album by them I don't have...I've heard quite good things though.
