My Mum worked in this shopping centre about a year ago. I hate knowing exactly where that little girl died.

A crazy rumour has this dude Dante Arthurs (http://www.news.com.au/story/0,10117,19626893-2,00.html) is one of the kids in the James Bulger case. One was relocated to Perth, the other to New Zealand. Shaky sources have claimed his new identity is a reversal of his biological grandfather's first and last names. Last year he was involved in the sexual assault of a 12 year old, but I doubt the credibility of any of these claims.

The Police would have to dismiss the rumours, based on the terms of his relocation, I believe. I was in the UK reading about them being relocated in 2003, didn't even think about them until now. But yeah, I guess it's pretty unlikely.

i really don't believe any of the rumours about it being one of james bulgers killers.

1. he has a different age (sure, this could change with an identity change?)
2. both of the killers have been spotting in england many times
3. a report from last year states they were both receiving heroin treatment at a hostpital in england
4. in an interview last year (presumably done after he was charged with assulting a 12 y.o. girl in a park) his mother stated that he had no criminal record and not a violet bone in his body (until that time obviously) so unless she is lying through her teeth....
5. someone claiming to know him from school really doesnt believe he looks like either of the killers or that he is one of them
6. the email circulating about him being one of the killers contains many incorrect facts, and no real evidence.
7. the police have totally denied it.

I know it's simply a conspiracy theory, but one doctor coming out and dismissing the claims with a birth certficate isn't real convincing. Also, the quotes above illustrate the extent to which the identities must be protected. The point is that they were housed in the North of England whilst serving their sentences, their new lives began with removal from the U.K. They are never to return to Liverpool or contact each other.

Rumours linking Arthurs and Thompson first emerged in 2004.

The British High Commission in Canberra last night said the rumour was nonsense.

West Australian Deputy Police Commissioner Chris Dawson had earlier ordered a review ofArthurs' criminal history due to the speculation about his past.

"The rumours are speculative and without ground,'' he said.

The Australian High Commission in London also confirmed there was no fingerprint match.

The Daily Telegraph has learned the Australian Government ordered immigration officials to check records to rule out a link between Arthurs and Thompson.

Investigations by The West Australian have confirmed that a Sue and Ron Arthurs lived in Surrey, south of London and left to return to Australia in 2002. Around the same time, the Bulger killers were believed to be entering a secret relocation program and this co-incidence had fuelled the rumour which police yesterday dispelled.

Sorry, I'm just thinking about it a lot. It's so different when you know the person. He didn't seem at all capable of such a thing when I knew him. I lost contact with him after high school (it was a senior campus btw, no age restriction). I was thinking about him the other day just out of the blue too. It's horrible now that I know why...
I'm just speechless really. It's easy to give an opinion when you don't know those involved but.... I'm just speechless. I've never known someone capable of this before... We were in the same classes, we spoke to each other every day. We even took the same bus...

Edit: I personally don't think that he is one of James Bulger's killers. He looks absolutley nothing like that photo.
