Meteor to hit the earth?

O.K. so I was listening to Howard Stern yesterday and they were talking about a meteor that is going to be hitting next week and is about a half mile wide (before it hits the earth). Then I'm watching PTI on espn and they talk about it. So I tell a few people I know and they think I'm nuts, and I have no proof (I cant find it on any of the news web sites) I mean my source is Howard Stern so how reliable could it be? So if anyone else heard this (I am assuming its a hoax) but if you could give me a link to it I would be greatful.

Nice thanks man. So It isnt going to hit, good. I'm not an expert but if that thing where to hit water it could really fuck up allot of stuff, or lets say it hits the moon that could cause some problems. Oh whell I can rest now good, thanks

Meteors hit the earth all the time. Good chance a lot of it could burn up in our atmosphere, I'd think.
