Seriously. I've had it up to here with girls (nice girls even!) who just don't think it's important to get back to you about plans, return your calls, answer text messages...respect you as a person.

Everytime I wind up waiting for some girl to call or get back to me I say I won't do it again and I'll just be a jerk to them for once and make them wait it out. Never happens.

Yah, I am in the same boat myself, but with male (platonic) friends. So I dunno how fair it is to level this solely at girls. But a lot of girls do this sort of thing regularly. It is because, socially, they are wired differently. They seem to think it is kinder on YOU to mess YOU around, than for them to feel bad about telling you the truth about how THEY feel.

I am guilty of not returning calls to ANYONE. My mom hates that, my sister leaves me mean voice-mail and my Doctors office just gave up.

I know people say that - but who honestly doesn't have 5 minutes to return a call at some point in their day? Being forgetful is one thing, but I once got some advice from a girl who said "if she wants to talk to you, she will."

That's the point, though. You are on their "friendship" ladder, and thus are treated like a second-class citizen. You exist, to them, as a "take it or leave it" source of tertiary entertainment / emotional support, and as such do not require any "give" in return for their "take."

With my life, by the time I get time to call someone back, it's 1 a.m. and too late to call and then I get on-line till 2 and by then I forget who I was supposed to call.
But if were told by a person that they would get in touch, I wouldn't wait for them to call, if they do, they do. If they don't oh well better to find out how unrelieable they are early on huh?

i chilled with this girl about a month ago and i asked her if she wanted to go to a baseball game and she said yes...so i bought the tickets in advance.

Between that day and the game we conversed quite a few times.

Then the day of the game, 2 hours before she fuckin text messages me and tells me she cant go! Why couldnt she call me? No respect.

so i then try and call her, but her voice message picks up. So i message her to call me..and she text me back saying " Im really really sorry, please dont be mad"...

Then my last text contained, "You could have called before! Grow up!"

So i ended up with an extra $27 ticket!...fucking women!

I actually thought about mentioning that too. They do say in the book that if someone likes you they will return calls. "Its almost impossible not to call, sometimes I call people from my pants pocket when I don't even mean to."
