What bands/artists out there can you always count on to make good music videos? Even if you don't like the songs, you can enjoy the videos because they are just so good.

There are only two bands/artists that I consider consistent when it comes to making good music videos:

Michael Jackson
The Beastie Boys

How about you? What are your choices?

Not trying to be an obvious suck up, but it is true, the Beastie Boys video skills are always at top form.

I'm always a little taken aback at how many great bands suck at the video game.

Michael Jackson

I think Mr. Jackson has a history of pretty bad videos, actually. "Bad" and that one with Macauley Culkin (sp?) and George Wendt come to mind.

Yeah -- Bjork was the first artist who came to mind. And I liked that White Stripes video with the kittens.

three mcs and one dj is a stupid video so everyone who answered "Beastie Boys" is wrong.

Aphex Twin I agree with.

What about the closeups of Mixmaster ripping it up? That was at least a little cool. Besides, how many bands have videos of them for real performing it live and on the spot?

Still...that was the one I always skipped on the DVD. Fair nuff.

the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Missy Elliott are worth mentioning as well.

me too, it was one of the first music videos that made an impact on me, because it's freaky, and i'd never seen anything like it (i think i was nine). i really like this one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmKhYK-ocNw) too, because it can still make me shudder a bit towards the end of it.

Good choices. Missy Elliot has done some really good ones, especially after she lost weight.

Now that I think about it, Quarashi had like 85% good videos made. I liked the whole "Being killed off one by one by the mafia" storyline in the "Thunderball" video. "Surreal Rhyme" is basically "3 MCs and 1 DJ: Iceland Version", so that's pretty easy for me to like. I loved the Snatch parody in the "Stick 'Em Up" video. "Baseline" was cool too, with them rapping on an Icelandic warship while wearing Icelandic Navy uniforms. The soccer ball that never stopped rolling in "Malone Lives" was pretty funny. "Mess It Up" had a neat video with the comic book that came to life. "Race City" was pretty violent, but cool. "Stun Gun" I liked, because it was a stereotypical rap song, but instead of doing a stereotypical rap video, they did a pretty funny one with Quarashi goofing off at a country club. And I liked the "Battle of the sexes" story in the "Payback" video, although since the song is about beating people up, it came off as a little odd.

And the "Mr. Jinx" music video is one of the top 5 best music videos I've ever seen.

System of a down.

I just like how they do "different" things, and they incorperate (spelling?) their own art into the whole thing. The "QUESTION!" music video was all Shavos doing. I think thats awesome.
