View Full Version : My new shoes give me feet-farts

I bought these new sandals the other day and I just wore them for the first time to the supermarket. What I've discovered is that with each step, my insole lifts up off the sole a little bit, and then when I step down the air rushes out the small gap in the leather on the side of the shoe. So as I walk, I sound like pffffft pffffft pffffft pffffft. And as it's hot out, when my feet got slightly sweaty, the sound got louder and, erm, juicer sounding.

I don't know if I can wear these shoes anymore:(

I had a pair of Chuck Taylors that were relegated to yard work for that very reason. They looked awesome, but the noise was too much to handle. :(

Maybe you can get some Dr. Shoals or something. It'd be a shame to waste a new pair of shoes just because they have gastronomical problems.

Sure, it was your shoes. I believe you. Really, I do.
Shut UP, it totally WAS, ok?

You can also blame the baby too. ;)
Don't think I didn't think of that.

This thread reminds me of George Costanza's noisy pants and bubble coat.

ms.peachy, I had a pair of shoes that did that and they did it unpredictably. I hated when it happened when other people were around and when they obviously heard it but were too polite to say anything and I could never command the shoes to make the sound again so that those people would understand that it was the shoes and not me. I have the same problem with my office chair. The shoes never comply, neither does the chair. They're in collusion.

I am not big into shoes so it bugged me to let them go and have to go out and buy another pair. I hate shopping for shoes.

me and my sister once got a pair of same shoes, and mine started creaking after a while, and then they started to "kwack", but her never did. :D

I had a pair of very tall go-go-style boots and in one of the heels were stones that you could hear clinking around when I walked. It's not like the stones got embedded into the heels after use--they were there from the start and when I took them back, they wouldn't accept them for return or refund because I'd already walked around outside in them. I didn't argue. I should have but I just thought  and then I never went to that store again.

Do people ask where you got your stinkers rather than sneakers?

Do people even use stinker anymore in reference to a fart?

It's comforting to know that I'm not the only person this happens to.
