i was listening to Ain't No Other Man by Christina Aguilera yesterday on the radio at work, and i was listening to the beats in the background and i noticed that it sounded very familiar. it took me about 30 seconds to realize that it sounds almost identical to Ch-Check It Out. i don't know if anyone else as noticed this or not, or i could be completely wrong but i'd like to hear your opinion about it. i opened two windows and had played both songs on youtube to see if i was right and i think they're pretty similar. let me know what you guys think.

in the song she samples: Luis Aviles & The Latin Blues Band's "(I'll Be a)
Happy Man
in ch-check it out ad-rock said this: For the first single off the album, "Ch-Check It Out," I had actually just found this short piece I liked [Peggy Lee's "(Sittin' on) the Dock of the Bay"], so I played it for the guys, and they liked it, too. We took that segment and made it into a whole song. And then there are other, more fully formed beats that are brought to the table, like where Yauch will program a whole track off of a drum machine and a synthesizer.
it sounds similar but no she did not bite of "ch-check it out"
she did however copy the beasties in "Tilt 'Cha Head Back" where her and nelly sampled Curtis Mayfield's "Superfly", very similar to what the beasties did with "Eggman"

thanks for the info dust, that's good stuff!(y) i never thought she was sampling off of the beasties i just thought it was pretty similar. just something i thought was pretty interesting to check out. i knew she had copied the same sample off of egg man, which is pretty cool. i'm sure some of christina's music is influenced by the beastie boys since she's trying to be a little more hip/hop. maybe:cool:

wow i've listened to christina's song lots of times and never noticed :S
oh my god, i'm slipping! (!)
it's a good song though, waaaay beyond that dirrrty whatever she was doing before, she just wasn't made for that, but you know this isn't general christina aguilera discussion so...meh :/

by the way I think people should check out Peggy Lee's "(Sittin' on) the Dock of the Bay"
its cool to see how ad-rock took one part and made a whole single
