It really burns.
At our work, catering will leave out tables around the hostess desk from parties the day/night before. There was a table cloth on it, and I was rubbing it for some reason when all of the sudden -- :eek:
And this is how fucked up catering is;
There was blood. A lot, in fact. I tried controlling the bleeding as much as possible by cupping my hands (while at the same time, TRYING to avoid the restaurant carpet and kitchen floor on my way to the restroom). The cloth was white, so of course I left a mess. Now, catering wants for me to PAY for the dry-cleaning of their cloth. Meaning, dock it from my CHECK.
My manager didn't file an injury report -- nothing. WTF?

ah yeah. you're not liable for that shit. I've worked in catering for years and NEVER would they make an employee responsible for getting injured on the job in that matter. it was not your negligence that got you hurt either. how fucking unprofessional is this company? give me thiernumber I want to speak to them.:mad: I'm reporting them to the better business bureau. seriously.
now your hand...still stings? you sure you got the shard out? you need to flush it with water and if you think it might still be in there sterilze some tweezers take a deep breath and fish it out. once you're sure it's clean and free of glass go ahead and wrap it up for a day or too. then leave it uncovered so it can breathe. if the slice is particularly wide like could almost use stiches to keep the skin together go to a drug store and get what they call butterfly strips and use those. however if it's been more than 24 hours since you cut it you shouldn't close it with stiches or buterfly strips. if any bacteria got in you do not want to close the wound up traping bacteria in it. it has to stay open. also neosporin. use it. any other questions? let me know.

I cut it Wednesday. The shard was sticking right out, and luckily, it was a big enough piece just to pluck. I rinsed it out with cold water and clipped the skin (I bring nail scissors EVERYWHERE), making sure of any remaining glass. Management provided nothing for me to clean it out with. I only got a bandaid. But as soon as I got home, I used peroxide and A&D ointment.
It still stings because if I stretch my hand out, where it's already beginning to heal, it sort of pulls apart the scab. :(

my brother punched thru his window & had a big piece of glass literally sticking out of his wrist:eek: (thank god nowhere near any veins) and it left a nasty scar. he applied scar lotion and it did blend in but only a little bit
