Has anyone ever heard of this track from Mike D? I thought I had heard just about everything from all of the guys but I ran across this track on a bit torrent site and I'm blown away by it.

I haven't heard past the 30 second mark but it sounds pretty trippy, and i think it's 1998, laver.

I couldn't find any mention of it on Beastiemania. The 30 seconds of the track Pooty left for me on my voicemail sounded noice.

It's from the album Psyence Fiction by UNKLE, which is a pretty good album in my opinion, It's definitely worth checking out, if for no other reason than the fact that it features Mike D.

Wow, I'm amazed some of you guys haven't heard this. It was recorded in 97 I believe. Better late than never. I'd love to be able to hear it for the first time.(y)

Yeah same here. Being a huge DJ Shadow fan I bought Psyence Fiction the first week it came out. Drums of Death was an instant favorite for me. Celestial Annihilation is my second favorite track off that album. Check it out if you have the time and want to hear a bangin ass beat!

I don't know, I remember getting the U.N.K.L.E. CD when it came out and I was definitely excited to see what this song sounded like. Prior to this the Beasties weren't doing many featured appearances on others' albums. I thought the verses by Mike were phoned in. He just redoes some stuff from old rhymes. It's alright, but if I were DJ Shadow or James Lavelle, I'd have been really disappointed. It's a trend, though, for Mike. Listen to his rhymes on the Handsome Boy Modeling School track Metaphysical--they're really uninspiring. He obviously saves the better material for Beastie albums.

Here's (http://img432.imageshack.us/img432/5750/unklepsyencefictionsm7an.jpg) the innersleeve (well, one of them) of the LP. I bought it mainly for the Thom Yorke collaboration (Rabbit in your headlights), and there's Richard Ashcroft from Verve as well. Guess I haven't been listening to it a lot since buying it ages ago...

A friend of mine and I always used to yell at each other "Ima break it down ina unkle style!"
I sat in on one of her universsity lectures and was listening to my mp3 player, when the this song came on I turned it up really loud on the "Ima break it down ina unkle style!" part, and someone told me to turn it down.
Classic story.

God damn you whippersnappers!!!!! There was no such thing as an mp3 player when I was in college. Or maybe they came out right at the end, but they were like $10 million dollars or sum shit!

I wouldn't call that "rhymin'." More like, "talkin'."

I'm pretty sure Jason Newstead plays bass and theremin on that song, too.
I received this from a guy in Buffalo, NY back in 2002. Great track.
