advice for a newbie

Hey guys...

Always wanted to try my hand at remixes. God knows I've downloaded plenty over the years. I've tried some freeware software but don't seem to be very good. What software can someone recommend? and where does one find the soundtracks for the beats and music? the instrumental versions if you call them that. I found software once that could remove the voice track but it was the sh|ts at it lol

I also used Adobe Premiere, the video editing software to make a remix once, wasn't easy, and was abit rough, but it was an attempt lol

if you wanna do a remix you're gonna basically have to write your own music. i think what you wanna do is a mash-up where you throw 2 songs together.

try sony acid software.

For making beats I use Reason, difficult at first but it has unlimited possibilities and a lot of editable samples). For creating the actual remix of the song I would recommend Cubase, again because it has lots of possibilities.
