Once when we were drunk my old roommate and I came upon some fresh cement around the corner from our apartment, and my roomie wrote "I <3 ELVIS". Except when we went back the next day, we saw what she'd actually written was that she loved Evlis.

I rarely write my name in cement. If my name was Bob or Jim, then fine, but with my name being Kalief, I kind of tend to shy away from leaving incriminating evidence like that at the scene of any crime, no matter how small.

I did write my name in the curb cement in front of our house when I was fifteen. The city laid down a new street. It says ' Kalief '86. It's still there.

Now I usually just put my footprint in wet cement. Just one foot. And for some odd ass reason, every time afterward I walk down that street I have to stop and put my foot in my own footprint. I don't know why I have to do this but I just have to.

i love writing in cement.

if i see some wet cement around i have to sms my ex to let him know, he loves it more than me.

one time in school my friend and i found some nice fresh stuff, bent down to write in it before some council workers saw us and chased us off.

another time there was a large amount of wet cement on the footpath EVERYONE took home from school. that cement got hurt so badly, they had to recement it :(

Last year around fall time, I was walking around downtown, it was probably around midnight. i see some fresh cement for as far as the eye can see, so i write my name in, eventhough i knew they were going to put another layer on. Still cool to think that my name is buried inder the city.

When my kid was maybe 4, I put a slab of wet cement onto a 1'x1' piece of wood and then had him do an imprint of his hand. Attached a ribbon to the wood and it's hanging in my bedroom. His hand is so miniature and the cool thing about that imprint is that it caught part of his toy watch along the edge. I love that a lot. His tiny little fossilized hand and that corny cereal-box watch. :)

Then there's the doorway with our measurements starting from from when he was 5ish. He'd stand our cat on his two back legs and stretch him WAY tall and mark off his height too. Tony always looked just a bit crucified (but patiently tolerant) combined with just a bit of panic that maybe he'd be stuck there forever. He'd appeal to me with cat eyes. :o

The people in the house before us patched the concrete along the side path and they made a little heart in it with their initials and those of their kids. They should have included their dog's paw print. :)
