Maybe her friend saw her on the site when she was using it and she followed her here.

In my case, though, the guy who followed me did it very recently and he looked for me--he didn't know (ahead of time) about the site where he eventually found me. He didn't know that I posted it on it--he just knew that I was on some sites and he wanted to find them and he found at least one of them. He actually tried to find me by doing google searches and then searching forums that he suspected that I'd post to and he pieced together who I was/what my screen name was given various things that I'd said at various points in time.

I know a couple of people who make a habit of doing stuff like this--they go off hunting for aliases of people that they know or work with. It's fun for them to do that and I wonder why it is that they don't have better things to do with their time.
