According to Rocafella.com, the Def Jam head honcho will be appearing on Nas’ forthcoming album, Hip-Hop Is Dead.
One day after his Radio City Music Hall concert – celebrating the 10th anniversary of his 1996 debut, Reasonable Doubt – Jay-Z conducted an online chat with several fans who asked everything from who’s his favorite producer (Dr. Dre), to what was it like meeting multi-billionaire Bill Gates.
When one person asked if he would appear on Nas’ Def Jam debut, Jay exclaimed: "Absolutely!"
The Def Jam president also confirmed long-time rumors that Harlem rapper Big L planned on signing to Roc-A-Fella Records before his untimely death in 1999.
"Yeah, he had just made a record called ‘Ebonics’ a week before he passed," Jay said. "We were going to sign him the following week."
Jay-Z also announced several upcoming albums by Def Jam/Roc-A-Fella recording artists Foxy Brown, Freeway, Memphis Bleek, and Young Chris of the Young Gunz.

Strange that all of those Roc-A-Fella artists suck so much, yet they work for a guy who has to try really fucking hard to make even a mediocre record.

Roc-A-Fella records=a company built on one man's track record.
Even if you say Dame had something to do with it, he was not the most important piece on the board, as seen with his new label not doing a damn thing other then B.Sig's lp in 2oo4 I think and that it while Jay (with Def Jam and partly the Roc with Kanye) has been pushing out hits, and he aint even had to jump in like Jordan with the Wizards yet either.

Let's just hope Jigga doesn't succumb to mental retardation by drafting a future bust (Jordan drafting Adam Morrison) and signing him to the label.

And we are talking about the same man who traded Richard Hamilton to the Pistons in exchange for Jerry Stack. At least I think it was Jerry Stack. Regardless, he's doing mighty fine for himself in Dallas, not Washington.

Jordan isn't that good of an exec....he also wanted to draft not onl Darius Miles but also Jay (as in Duke) Williams

i heard the song (or at least one of them) with jay on nas's album. it had nas, jay, and biggie. jay-z sampled on the hook, "who's the best rapper, biggie, jay-z, or nas." it went something like that.

I remember some rumors right after the black album that he was going to do an album on Aftermath under the name S. Carter, but I guess nothing ever came of that.
As far as doing tracks on Nas' new album, I don't know if thats really coming out of retirement. I don't think doing a handful of guest verses is the same as putting out a new album, or even an EP. Its really only a matter of time until he does come back, until then, he seems to guest on a few albums a year which is always nice.

He's being touted as the next Larry Bird, which by all accounts pisses me off. He has an odd body shape that, he's not really a two guard, he's too small to play the 4, and I just don't like him as a small forward. I want a Tayshaun Prince or a Paul Pierce type body. Not some lanky, somewhat overweight monstrosity.
Then again, he's playing in Charlotte.
