Since he has been arrested and is in custody, but I am painfully curious why the military released him rather than convicting him? It was nice of them to let a psychopath go....just imagine the damage he could have done to his fellow citizens.

He was honorably discharged with the "personality disorder" when officers came to believe that civilians weren't safe around him.

Then they found out about the rape and murders, and now he's being held and tried and might get the death penalty.

They're also investigating whether the other soldiers recently tortured and beheaded were killed as retaliation (they were from the same unit, etc.).
