Alright, I just got back from the movie theature, and I wanted to know if anyone else saw POTC. I have just three words to sum it up: WHAT THE FUCK!?!?! I am OUTRAGED!!!!!!
Now, dont get me wrong, It was a really good movie, but I am outraged, and Im not going to give away why. But I was wondering if anyone else who has seen the movie is thinking the same thing I am... What the fuck man.. what the fuck..
I dont even know what to say. Go see it. Thats all. And what the fuck. Disney needs thier asses kicked.

I thought it was just 'meh.' I groaned aloud during the last 5 minutes because it was totally predictable, given their situation.
I don't think I'd see it again. Same old formula, same tired rum jokes, and the bitches that be sitting next to me kept laughing at EVERYTHING Jack Sparrow said or did. The guy with the wooden eye was clever at some points, not a peep outta them. I know if what he said, Jack Sparrow had said, it would have been ROFLMAO for them.

I think she's referring to the last 5 minutes, and how they leave you hanging.
It's pretty easy to guess what'll happen in the next movie, just take what's common sense and add in some swaggering, more alcohol jokes, and fight scenes and there ya go.

More like the last second of the movie.. i was literally sitting there in the theature for a second like HAHAHA VERY FUNNY!! roll the rest of the movie.. come on.. COME ON!!!! JOKES OVER!!!!
and then I realized it really was over.. and I was dumbfounded. I mean, really.. who does that??!?!?!
Im still buggin over it.
I dont know, I know the rum jokes are tired and everything.. but Its still fact of the matter that its a good movie. Not only because of Johnny Depp, but if your into the whole pirate scene its a good movie.
Some of those Dutchman crew was fucked up looking though, I gotta admit...that was some crazy shit.

I'm very into the pirate scene, I spend about 2 weeks of my life per year on the island where Blackbeard grew up and I just got done writing 15 pages on piracy in early American history. Maybe that's why. The animated fake sea-creatures thing didn't do it for me. I'd be much happier with a story that relied much more on folklore and yo-ho-hoery and the like and didn't go off on the fantasy tangent.
They should totally have had Captain Jack marry 12 women, all under the age of 18 and when one acts up and says she's going to tame his wild ways, he gives her to his men for sloppy seconds, thirds and so forth and end up slitting her throat, just like real pirates.

Now there's something the whole family can enjoy!

Mackenzie Crook. (y)
He was brilliant in the BBC version of The Office. I wish to God Christopher Nolan would cast him as the Joker.

Now you know how people felt about Empire Strikes Back when they first saw it, RaZoR, but don't fret, their making another one right now to come out the same time next year. Because Disney needs more money.
we totally walked by some of the sets last week and i even saw some of the boats they're building

The movie was a let down for me. What was the actual plot? There wasn't one it was just a bunch of little sub plots that are going to have to be pulled together in the third movie. It was full of so much unrealistic shit i.e. the fight scene on the wheel rolling around for like 10 minutes and the shit with the ball cage and the natives. I mean it was a little out of control for me like WTF! The begining was exciting and then it was slow till the end. I'll probably appreciate it more when the third one comes out but i'd still give it like 6/10 being generous.

If you're looking for a story, read a book. The movie entertained me, isn't that the purpose of a movie?
cynics!

I can't remember anything about the first one, so I'm taking that as a sign that I don't need to see the second one.

YEAH! Movie for watch, not for think!
Movies are much more entertaining if they have a story line or make you think about what's going on. A good story is what makes a good movie.

I don't think that's true; Empire was well recieved from the outset both critically and popularly if I recall correctly.

Pretty much. I think there was an occasional disgruntled person, but most everyone thought it was good stuff.
Pirates 2: I saw it yesterday and brought my two cents to this board.
It's like a beautifully produced first draft. Damn... if they'd tightened the narrative and if it had a certain amount of grace that the first movie had (and I think it was kinda messy, but still good)...
This one's sloppy in a lot of ways, and this time, the special effects are definitely the star instead of the support. Depp is okay, but only inspired a couple of times, I thought.
It's watchable, and I'm glad I saw it, but more because my curiosity is slaked rather than because I saw a good movie.

I agree with norcen somewhat; wasn't as good as the first and it lacked the flow, and the story.
It also took a while for anything interesting to happen, but I still enjoyed it heaps.
I loved all the fight scenes.

SPOILER WARNINGS!!!
(i wont get into a review of the film, its ok at best, what i wanted to say was:)
Anyone notice the uncanny similarity with Star Wars? Specifically the Empire Strikes Back?
Jack Sparrow (clearly the Han Solo of the piece, roguish hero with a whizz-bang ship thats almost a character it self, doubtful morals but really a hero at heart) is captured in the final act and the film ends with the rest of the characters about to mount a rescue operation in the third movie? hmm?
plus he kisses the Princess Leia of the film before his capture? hmm?
and arnt McKenzie Crook and his fat mate C3p0 and r2d2?
am i pushing it now?
kracken/sarlacc?
