I saw it in the theatre and thought it was mighty nice.
Also - any word on live tracks from that show in mp3 format?
I presume they'll hook up some on the dvd.
thanks all - me.

You could get the version without all the cool stuff on amazon or ebay I think. Or you could just wait till July 26 and get the real thing, which is what I'm gonna do. And there's some mp3s of the concert here (http://mic-to-mic.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_mic-to-mic_archive.html) if you scroll down to the 10th one. (y)

If you want to record this particular dvd's music to another format for personal use, say PCM (for a CD-R that plays in regular CD players) or MP3s, just hook up the dvd player's analog left/right outputs to the soundcard's analog input. Then set the recording level (unless its automatic, which won't sound quite as good) and basically you're done. Though obviously this does take more time to do than a digital transfer.*
Don't get hung up on the "digital is better than anything" marketing junk because that's not true. And it can also make doing certain things more complicated.
FYI: I'm sure the above is on the RIAA's things-to-oppress-next list  - it's called the analog hole (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Analog_hole).
* this is how you can also make a CD-R for yourself of all 42(!!) remixes on the Beasties' Video Anthology dvds......which as far as I know are not separately available anywhere for sale.
