I saw it for the first time last night and wasn't the least bit impressed. Actually, I didn't appreciate it what-so-ever.

The slapstick moments were okay, but as for everything else, I found it somewhat derogatory. For example; when the main character's getting his chest waxed, you have the stereotypic Asian woman taking his abuse laughing along, laughing along, bowbowbow. And of course there's the "National Geographic Titties", which society has deemed "not pretty" (although I can say, after watching that scene, I too deemed my tits as National Geographic-esque :().

Maybe I'm just extremely bitter right now, but I honestly cannot see why this movie has/had such a following. Pretty tasteless if you ask me.

I have, yes. I'm a guilty party in being/acting perverse. But if men can be/act in such a way, why can't women?

Consider this factor; I am NOT a man nor have the male mentality to manipulate women (piss-drunk or sober). And that is what I strongly disliked about the movie.

I thought the film looked like generic insipid graceless crap. And considering how shit the US office was, I am not afraid to speculate having only seen a couple of trailers.

ha ha that movie was good, where else you going to get lines like,

David: You know how I know you're gay? You have a rainbow bumper sticker on your car that says, "I like it when balls are in my face."

Cal: That's gay?

Bis and I are so much a like, it's scary. I don't think I laughed once, during the movie.

Maybe I'm not the demo at whom it was aimed? I bet Qdrop liked it.

I don't have to watch it to see if I'd hate it--I know I would. I don't get my kicks by watching movies about aging virgins. I fail to see the humor in that. I, too, am probably not part of that demographic.

As a sum, Hollywood is dead. I've lost complete interest in any of their movies. That's why I want to turn to japanese movies. There are a lot of great titles, I hear. Although I've only seen Battle Royale and a bit of Ecchi the Killer so far, oh and Zatoichi.

I thought the eggsalad sandwich conversation was pretty funny in that movie.

- - however, good movies that I saw recently:
"You and Me and Everyone We Know"
"22 Short Cuts"

I watched probably 40 minutes of it before I left. It was pretty meh, but at least it wasn't mean-spirited.

I was hoping for more of Catherine Keener, which I guess was in there later, but it wasn't worth sticking it out to get there. It was... probably about on par with The Wedding Singer -- stupid and predictable, but you couldn't really hate it, I don't think.

I saw it in the theater and thought it was funny. There were some parts that were just plain stupid, but there were enough guffaw-inducing jokes to make up for it. although, I think being in a packed theater with everyone laughing makes you laugh more. also I was high. I can't really remember that much about it, the "you know why you're gay" stuff made me laugh, and when he says something about pulling up the wood floor to see if there's carpet underneath made me pee myself. I think I was the only one in the theater that laughed at that joke though. but I've already mentioned this.

It remains one of my last summer favorites. I love Steve Carell though, and Paul Rudd so that might be why....I just loved how stupid the guys were in it, it seemed really true of guys I know and what they say/do. Stereotype wise? Ehh they couldve not used the asian woman but it's hollywood....

Plus the ending was cute, and it wasn't a total guy movie, by showing more of Catherine Keener and her kids it made it real.....

I agree with Bis. I found parts of it uncomfortable. Like in the very beginning when he's talking about going to mexico and watching the donkey show. That's the most horrible thing I can think of and they're just making fun of it. Or when they're talking about trying to find a girl who's drunk enough for them to take advantage of.

That said, I still thought parts of it were funny and the chemistry between the cast members was good.
