Well, I'm between jobs and waiting security clearance at my new one. I quit my old job about 2.5 weeks ago, and have since been to Canada and North Carolina in that time. I now have the chance to go to New Jersey for free with my brother (government pays for his car/hotel, so I'd just tag along). But I feel kinda like a bum, and like I should be around more for my friends and clean up the condo a wee bit. Should I take it easy or go to NJ? You decide!

Guess it depends on how much you want to see your brother and whether his job would keep him too busy for much quality time.
On the plus side, if you were in Jersey you could probably bop in to NYC pretty easily.
"What's your favorite thing to do in New Jersey?"
"Go to New York City."

seriously
stay where you are

okay, okay. I mean free and not my boring-ass apartment.
I like seeing America, no matter how crappy. Plus, free hotel room. I <3 hotels. And free breakfasts.

Diana...I just spent a lot of time in Jersey and if you are interested PM me and I'll tell you where and where NOT to go. There are some really cool spots.

If you'd be anywhere near the shore then hell yeah, you should go.

I've been to both cities, I like them.
Bleh, I'm torn though. I don't think I should go because I'm THISCLOSE to being granted clearance. But on the other hand, I don't they expect me to work right away after I get my clearance because they think I'll have to give my two weeks. Little do they know I already did that so I could have free vacation time. Hmm. I do want to start work right away though, because I'm dipping into my savings. Maybe I'll just tell them I can start next Monday.
Jersey is close enough to Murrland to go any weekend you want. Wait til you have some cheddah in yo pocket from your new job and then go. Simple as that.

That's true too. But this is also a free trip, I'll have to pay for gas and lodgings next time.
Sigh. :(

Hahaha...I did the drama queen "I'm leaving" thing a while back, and then realized I can never leave this hellhole. If I've been here since 1998, nothing's gonna keep me away. Unless I stop paying my Comcast bill. Or I get a job with no internet. And even then I'll find a way to get sucked back.
DAMN YOU BBMB

In that case, maybe DON'T go. If they're gonna grant you clearance any day, you may as well start as early as you can.

!!!!
The Jersey Shore is awesome.
Wildwood is a party town and a half with an enormous boardwalk with tons of rides and games that'll take you at least 2 days to see all of it.
Tons of other Beach towns too.
You'll be close to either NYC or Philly if you havent been to either one
LBI is way better than Wildwood.
