I'd heard this guy's name thrown around before, but it really didn't sound like a indie/opera-pop name, so I paid no attention to it. Not that I really would've anyways if I'd been told it was indie/opera-pop.

This song of his was one of the theme songs at a camp I was at last week, so when I got home I picked up "Want One." Interesting stuff.

He's great live when it's just him and a piano or him and a guitar. He's funny too.

The Judy Garland thing he's doing now kind of scares me, but I have only seen the press coverage.

Oh, and I kind of assaulted a fellow fan at his last local show so I feel embarrassed when I hear his music sometimes.

fan right here. don't actually own any of his albums, but i could sing you april fool's at the drop of a hat. and i've always watched his live performances and stuff. his version of Hallelujah is something incredible. his voice is so...unhuman. even angelic. i really love Vibrate and Don't Want, too. and OH GOD does his cover of Across the Universe kill me.

one of the best concerts i've ever seen was when he toured with Ben Folds. they did a duet of Careless Whisper (Wham!) (yes, i know, but seriously!), and oh man i still love watching the video i took of it.

The only song I really heard before getting his "Want" CDs was "Oh What A World." Couldn't have really guessed he was gay from that.

Upon further researching...yeah, he's a fruitbasket in the mail. At least he still makes good music (looking in your direction Boy George!).

I've been listening to Poses alot last winter, especially Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk.
You know that Martha Wainwright is his sister and Loudon Wainwright III is his father. And his big friends with Antony Johnson.

his version of Hallelujah is something incredible. his voice is so...unhuman. even angelic.
When I saw Rufus and he said he was going to do that song, I rolled my eyes and probably coughed because I hate that song so much. Then Rufus proceeded to sing it so beautifully that I actually tried to play the Jeff Buckley CD again. But even Rufus's love of Jeff Buckley couldn't make me listen to Jeff Buckley.

Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk is such a perfect song. I know it's crazy, but I always listen to the first song on Want One (Oh what a world???) when I'm on an airplane.
