i have an apartment now

it only took 2 tries on craigslist! it's a cozy little place, 2 roommates who seem very cool and likeable, even by my standards. the apartment itself is fairly small, but the actual bedroom is pretty big (for boston). it's 15 x 11, with a massive closet. right on the bus route that goes into school, so that's convenient. $550 a month, plus utilities. not bad, not bad at all.

for me, it's exciting, because it's the first time i've ever done a thing like this on my own.

Make sure you take pictures of anything that's very worn, dirty, or damaged, and have the manager or landlord sign off on it. You gotta prepare ahead so you get your deposit back. Seriously.

It seems tight-assed, but you'd be surprised what some landlords will do to keep your dough.
