when you want to phase someone out of your life who you've been friends with since junior high? And they are friends with all of your friends, and you all hang out in the same circles, go to the same parties, and they consider you one of their best friends?

the only solution I have is moving away

Don't go out of your way to engage with them socially. You may not be able to avoid being at the same functions as them, but that doesn't mean that you can't cut down on the amount of interaction the two of you have. If you're friends with the same people, it's doubtful that you'll be able to phase them out of your life completely, but you can certainly drift.

Or just tell them straight out that you feel like you've grown apart. That's the most mature way to go about it.

Push them under a train.

Actually, don't listen to me. This is much better advice. (y)

if they are friends with your friends and hang out in the same circles i'm not sure short of moving away and ditching all your other friends if there's anything you can do....

why? were they very horrible to you?

I think that it's not an easy situation, you should think about the motivation that makes you feel this way...

Just act like they don't exist. I've done it to many people, even one I'm related to. It's very easy. But once you start it you have to stick with it. There is no making up and being buddy-buddy six months or a year from now.
