I wouldn't exactly say I was buddy-buddy with her but I knew her from the neighborhood. She was always cool. I saw her last Sunday on the street. It was about 90 fucking degrees outside and I had just gotten an ice cold orange Crush from the corner bodega and I crossed the street to talk to a friend of mine and she was standing there. I hadn't seen her in since last summer because she had been hiding out (she was running from a warrant). So I said, "Whassup, Jaime?" and she went to smack me on my ass and wound up knocking the pop out of my hand. I got pissed and I snapped off on her. I feel kinda bad about that.
She wasn't a perfect person but she was cool people. That's a fucked up way to die, though, OD-ing in the basement of a crack house
Life is so very fragile.

Sorry to hear about that, but if I were to have an accidental death, an O.D. would be the way to go. You would feel no pain at all.

I think Jaime was in alot of pain, actually. It just wasn't physical.

About 33.
I knew she was addicted. I knew she turned tricks every now and then (and NO, I did not know her like that). But she was still cool with me. And pretty gotdamned tough for a little white girl in this neighborhood.

You don't have to be addicted to O.D.

What I was gonna say. Some people don't understand the difference between someone who takes drugs and a "drug addict".
But crack is always a bad idea, really.
