Hey everyone, long time no speak. My internet is too slow for these forums. I miss this. But had to come on to say Australian Rap Group "Hilltop Hoods" has sampled Adrock on there new album. Song 10 "Circuit Breaker" the chorus of it is
I Got This Fealin That Is (Repeated)
So Dont Touch Me Cause Im Electric (Repeated)
An if Ya Touch Me You'll Get Shocked Shocked Shocked
Sampled for of course the great "Professor Booty".
And also at the start Suffa MC from the group says this at the start.
"I Gotta Jump Back, An Kiss Myself".
From of course "And The I".
Looks like someones been listening to the greatest group of all time. BEASTIE BOYS (!)
P.S. Sorry if this has already been posted. ;)

Yeah Hilltops are crazy wack. But good to see Hammy back here.
Kiss myself is a Whodini line, but Hilltops prolly didn't know that. Although it could go back to James Brown.

OI!!!
im good friends with the Hoods, known them for about 12 years. went to high school with em. they are top blokes.
why, exactly, are they a joke? cos they work fucking hard? stay true to themselves? (you have no idea how many record contracts and sponsorship deals worth heaps of $$$$ have been thrust upon them and theyve turned them all down, including a support slot for 50 cent! ha!). they have recorded and produced all their albums themselves, with no help from anybody, and they have stayed fiercely independent.
matt (suffa) is the best freestyler i have ever come across. and in the south of adelaide, which has a massive hip hop culture, i have heard squillions.
theyve opened the doors for so many aussie hip hop acts, and have helped and nurtured tons of up and comers tirelessly, whether offering free time in their studio, providing beats and other audio tracks for free, and have even started the 'hilltop hoods music initiative', see here - http://www.musicsa.com.au/news/articles/7920.asp which aims to provide $3000, donated by the hoods themselves, which goes to help unsigned up and coming hip hop acts.
even little stuff like even starting to rap in an aussie accent, which they got scoffed at for years for doing so. (they were even doing that in 1994, even i thought it sounded weird then). no one else was doing that at the time.
sure, the single clown prince sucks ass, (and i told em that) and the calling is their weakest album, but i think they have been pioneers and have championed the whole australian hip hop culture. listen to left foot right foot, their album before the calling, it is one of my favourite hip hop albums. (the year it was released, a new york hip hop mag sorry cant remember which one rated it 9/10, which was the highest score for ANY hip hop album released that year).
so a big FUCK YOU to all the dickheads that think theyre a joke. you dont know shit. sure, if ya dont like their music, fine. but dont put em down when they surely dont deserve it.

Yeah my beef with the Hilltops is that they make music that sounds like it's straight out of 1999. Real safe, boring shit. And the lyrics wash over me like a big cloud of nothing. And I couldn't imagine anybody who ONLY listened to hip-hop even bothering with them. That said, my tastes are as diverse as they come, and I can't stand them. So yeah, they opened doors, but only to a plethora of equally shitty House of Pain castaways.

huh?
It was in Maxim that Australia has the highest concentration of bi-sexual men.
I was wondering if this group added the rhyme possibilites to their aresenal.
Y'know like "we be tossing boomerangs and sucking cocks".

I have nothing against them, I only have The Hard Road which I bought a few months ago, saw it less than $20, had it recommended to me, thought I might as well. It's a well produced, well written album, that's basically how I see it. Nothing mind blowing but I wouldn't call it bad at all, and it's quite fun. Worth pointing out I'm not a fan of Australian hip-hop or maybe just the rapping side of it in general (based on, I'll admit, limited exposure), but these guys, for some reason, have been an exception.
http://www.myspace.com/hilltophoods <-- their MySpace for any non-aussies to check out, although the 2 tracks they have probably aren't the best examples of tracks from the album. Still gives you a reasonable idea of where they're coming from I guess.

Why does it matter what they're sexuality is, anyways it doesn't have any affect on their music.
word.
