what can do you weared?

anything that's not overly trendy....otherwise you deserve mockery.

and i said "trendy", not popular.
jeans are popular, no problem there.

just wear normal, unassuming glasses that don't draw undue attention to yourself, or scream "LOOK, I AM WEARING WHAT OTHER "COOL" PEOPLE ARE WEARING! I'M WITH "IT"! I'M LIKE THEM! TREAT ME AS THOUGH I AM POPULAR, LIKE YOU TREAT THOSE OTHER PEOPLE THAT WEAR THESE, AND THAT I WANT TO EMULATE SO BAD!"

What if a person has been wearing the "film school" glasses for years?

I have a friend that has been wearing his for about 11 years now, does he get a pass?

In other words do you think people should change their style up because it happened to get popular a few years after they started doing it?

it's not fair, but it happens.

happened to me with the baggy JNCO jeans.
you used to have to fuckin HUNT for those things back in 93-96...it was difficult...and they cost a fortune...
by 99', fuckin Sears was selling them out thier catalogue, and that was that.
i'm not sharing my clothing style with 10 years olds going to the food court.

so what if it becomes "trendy". If I've been doing it, then I'm still going to do it no matter who else decides to join in.

Look at DJing for example. I remember back in 1990 I knew about 5 people that had turntables and spun records. Fast forward to 1994-1996 and everyone was getting tables and all like "Yeah I mix records and shit." Does that mean the 5 people I knew should have stopped because some 9th graders parents bought him a set up?

I dunno man....I just think its dumb to change what you like just because "everyone else" likes it now.

so what if it becomes "trendy". then that means society killed it.
that is why we must ruthlessly protect our mini-culture underground trends.
that's why people in the "underground" put alot of effort into keeping things underground....
because once something goes mainstream...it gets saturated and losed it's intial meaning.

well, comparing eyewear choice to an artistic/musical platform is a bit of stretch.
and in instances like that, though it was and IS annoying to have 5 billion kids with tables and no talent...they are easily pushed to the side when it comes to booking, playing out, battles, production skills, etc...
in cases like that, competition will always thin the heard...

but with fashion, you're SOL.

The glasses that I wear are for reading. At work I wear rimless half glasses because given what I do for a living, I need them on about 75% of the time--for reading/editing but not computer work. Since they're rimbless, they're so fragile and they were fairly expensive, so I don't use them outside of work.

Until I need a prescription lens, and I'm just on the verge of that, then I wear whatever reading glasses they have at dollar stores or Office Depot. Mostly, they look like these (http://www.sierratradingpost.com/eccStoreFront/stp/product_images/76981/F_76981_1.jpg) which I think is kind of awful but my friends like them--one in particular does and he counts the most.

It's not worth it to buy better glasses because I lose them lots since I take them on/off a bunch of times each day and then forget where I put them and my cats knock them onto the floor and I step on them. I have about 30 different ones and they're all over the house, in my car, at the gym...everywhere. Mostly, though, they're usually just propped on top of my head.

The "film school" glasses are awkward-looking to me; if I were forced to wear glasses one day because of eyesight problems, I'd go with a standard, decent-looking pair.

Besides sun glasses, I'd only wear glasses for eyesight issues.

Emo goes as far back as the '80s.

But the over-indulgent ridiculous "emo haircuts" and other stupid crap that you see kids wear in the mall is a product of the '00s.

No it's not, it comes from the late 80's punk bands who became emo bands in the 90's.
