the study finds that the absence of a father, the presence of half- and step-brothers and living in an urban environment are all associated with the earlier onset of a girl's first period, known as menarche.

From an evolutionary perspective, making babies with a closely related family member is a cardinal sin.

my little sister just started getting her's and she had one when we were both staying at my grams while my parents were away for a week.

then the other day my mom and older sister were talking about that and it was sort of creeping me out. i don't want to have to think about that sort of stuff

Mine was 8th grade. Sorta late, sorta not. My dad and brother were around me all my life.

However, my one friend who I mentioned in that other thread started when she was 10 - in the 4th grade. She had 8 sisters and 3 brothers at the time. And she always said her dad was never really around or didn't pay much attention to her.
