Keep hydrated. On the plus side, sweat on your fingertips should make it easier to separate pages.

its 73 in my apartment and i am sitting here with my shirt off because i am still too hot right now
sucks to be bob
Man, I hate working in the heat like that. My dad always had a theory about climate being a big part of why places like Mexico aren't more developed.
"When there's never a cold day or winter to prepare for, what reason is there to go out and build a new or better house?"
I always thought it was a sound theory.

i think the heat makes you lazy. because it's really hot right now and i haven't done anything but kvetch about the heat. normally i'm pretty productive. maybe that's why the south is considered so much more laid back. people are too lazy to be angry about anything.
you know the saying, "it's so ____ it's not even funny?" this is like the opposite, it's so hot that it actually is kinda funny somehow

people call me to get their air conditioners fixed and I have to fake sympathy. They act like its an emergency if they dont have A/C for three or four days and will say things like "I THOUGHT YA'LL HAD EMERGENCY SERVICE!" to which I reply "sure, if you have no heat or your gas meter is all broken and hissing gas"
when they mention their infant children, I usually say "well, a newborn has just spent nine months where its 98.6 degrees, so they're quite familar with the heat"

The building I'm in has the air conditioning on a timer. I'm here early enough that it's stifiling, and I am literally sweating through my shirt. I have a stack of napkins on my desk so I can keep wiping away the perspiration.
But, hey -- I make my own hours to some extent, so that part is -- uh -- cool.

it's so hot that the devil called and said to turn down the heat up there it's too hot for jokes right now i'm sorry
i haven't had pitstains since i started using mitchum anti-perspirant. the tagline is "so effective you can skip a day" and it's actually true, i've done it, quite a bit. i only put it on every other day now, and i haven't had a pitstain or a smelly armpit once.

Hahahaha! Don't know why this particular post made me laugh so much but it did. I understand where you're coming from, I live in the south and summer is a god-awful time of year. "It's not the heat, it's the humidity", really is true. Breathing in a lungful of hot and wet just sucks.
Anyway Bob, hope you're doing better today!
it was so hot that they sent us home early. we were sitting in the dark to stay cool (i work with a lot of obese people, they get hot easily), the server was whining loudly, they had us shut everything down and go home. everything seems to be in order today though...so far.

it's hot as fuck today!
100 degrees and humid. the water in my ghetto pool is just above 90 degrees. it's not very refreshing to jump into a vat of liquid as hot as piss.

I guess I win: outside today 95°F, tomorrow 100°F.
Inside my office: 105-110°F, no fuckin air condition,
just a way to little fan which sends over a breeze of
hot air - Texas-style. I keep sticking to my chair and
table and my face looks like that:
Please, help me! Send donations for an air condition
or a pool. In return I'll invite you all to a pool-party.

I heard about a trick to cool down the room temperature,
but I don't know if it really works: you're suppodes to fill
something big enough (e.g. your bathtub) with ice cool
water. That will cool down the room, becaus all the heat-
energy in the room willl be needed to warm up the water
to room temperature. (lb)
Give it a try. :)
