Does anybody else watch this show? I don't get comedy central here but I've watched some tapes that my brother sent me. Now I'm pretty pumped about the movie (y)

Rented this the other night. Wow, this was bad. I thought with the Colbert/Worldwide Pants affiliation, it would have some savvy, but it was like a bunch of eighth graders wrote a 90 minute skit they thought was really funny.

Wow, gotta definitely disagree. I thought it was pretty well done, and very laughable. Colbert's religious science class? Awesome.

I'd give it an A-.

Also true that the show is better but it's easier to pack brilliance into 30 minutes. I think they did extremely well seeing as how it was an hour and a half long.

I just don't think it was meant for movie status...it looked too nice as well, the best thing about the show is that it really looks like an after school special. Either way, I will always love it

^That's what I don't like about the new Simpsons. I like the crappier, duller colors that the old school episodes have. Now they have better animation and shadowing and sharper colors but it doesn't have heart.

Lord, I was kind of shocked at how bad it was, considering who was involved.

Yeah, I read about how it was supposed to be a send-up of after-school specials, and it just pretty much failed in every way, as far as that goes. The look wasn't right, the camera wasn't right, and, really, the concerns weren't right. After-school specials are so largely cautionary tales or coming-of-age tales or struggle-with-X tales.

A movie that really nailed a TV genre is that first Naked Gun movie. Man, they totally got that look, feel, plotting, everything.

See, I actually don't know what I'd think of the movie if I hadn't seen the TV shows first. You may have enjoyed it more if you knew what to expect.

God I love the TV show. I should really ask for the series for Christmas.

I wonder what the X Files movie would've looked like without having seen the series.

I still can't watch the Twin Peaks movie, and I dug that series a lot.

I just rented the movie the other night and I liked some parts of it, definitely wasn't that bad.

I've never watched the show on T.V but seems like most of you here like it better so maybe I should check it out soon.
