HOLY HELL! That was so great!!! Mike let his hair grow out, I'm lovin it! And they did the weave man! The weave! Most definitly one of their best performances. (y) Wow, I never got so excited over anything like that. During the commercial breaks leadin up to it I'd jump up and have a spazattack, I get hyper when I'm too excited. I love them so much. :o And my mom and dad watched it too, my mom told me they hop around like they're 20 years old and they look fit (my dad got jealous). Umm yeah, somebody post it on youtube because I wanna see it again. And I agree Pooty, funky as hell. Great now I can't sleep.

i dont know, i woke up at like 5:30 to a REALLY bad stomach ache that turned to nautisa (i have no clue how to spell that) well, i had ALOT of pizza for dinner last night, & it was RIGHT before their performance. i guess i can say i puked because ADROCK was SO HOT. i was sweating when i went to bed(y) :D but i thought about him & the pain went away. then as the east coast saw the performence i got even more excited cuz u guys were describing how awesome it was.

Great performance on all counts. A whole lot of energy. Perfect. I loved that they gave us that particular song and that they took a chance and reworked it. It worked. There was so much energy that it seemed like they were just getting to know that song, like Root Down is a new release that they were debuting. (Sometimes when artists perform songs from their past, the performance is so rote that you can predict every next move and modulation. That wasn't the case at all with this performance and really, that stuns me a little because I think it must be hard to find new approaches the way they did.)

They are so comfortable with each other, yet there is still so much energy that flows among the three of them. I love that.

I asked Tivo to get Conan on Thursday & Friday nights because I wasn't sure which night they were on and the Tivo lineup didn't mention them for either night or at all, really. It turns out that they weren't on either of the airings that Tivo picked up, so I'm grateful that Jmoney put it on youtube. Thanks for doing that.

i dunno about that one guys, i love the beasties as much as anyone else on here, but i was completely unimpressed with the performance tonight, it was just too unorganized and all over the place, it just didn't sound like a song, throughout the song i was just like WTF is this, god i love these guys, but this performance severely came up short compared to their last conan appearance

I understand your thoughts there, but look at it as if you were a beastie boy and/or a fan 10 years down the road. They wanna keep things sounding fresh (new). Its 2006, I dont think they want root down to sound like the 94 IC version. Even the concert root down performances are different.

my tivo got the recording i just looked up Late Night with conan o'brien showings & it said Saturday (cuz technically it starts after midnight) guest Al Gore, Paul Giamatti, and Beastie Boys perform.

I think the last Conan appearence was better. Sort of in two minds...I like the - for want of a better word - craziness of this performance. But I like it more when the actual beat is played for the first versus and then switched up after the first chorus and so on. I'm not complaining though, it was a good performance.
