This made me laugh, as the PSP games selection at the moment is laughable in and of itself. Because there are hardly any original titles--remakes or ports don't count.

I'd be fine with it, if it were developed by a respectable company, and was even semi-fun to play.

How would it play out?

Maybe one aspect could have the BBoys skateboarding while the cops are chasing them, for breaking a law. Maybe it could be a rhythm game, where you have to correspond their rhyming with some scheme.

OR, maybe you could make it play out like a Sim game, where you control the finances of the BBoys, and it's your decision on when the BBoys albums are to be released. This also includes logging onto this forum, creating fake aliases, to mock your fans.

I agree. If you want to impliment innovative features into a game, then the DS is the best handheld to shoot for. It's also more popular than the PSP. The main attention-grabber would be the stylus--being able to use it to control the game, by using the touch screen.

Yeah, that too, but the PSP has that as well. I was referring to distinctive features that only the DS has. (so far)

Hey Miho, I frequent some gaming forums and apparently there is a rumour in the September issue of EGM (yes, it's a rumour about a rumour) that Mother 1,2, and 3 are all coming to DS on one card with touch screen support. I'm not sure if these games (other than Mother 2 of course) will FINALLY come out outside of Japan, but hopefully.

I read about that on the Starmen.Net forum. The impression that I've been given is the person who handles the rumors in the EGM magazine has usually been correct, so it gives some hope that Mother 1 & 3 will finally get a proper release in North America. That would be cool if it were all on one cart, and being able to use the stylus would be a nice touch.

I own the JP Mother 3 for the Game Boy Advance, and I follow a translation guide from GameFAQs. I'm almost finished it, and so far, it's been a ride to remember. It's easily one of my favorite games of all time, and considering how memorable Mother 2 (EarthBound) was, that is hard to top. I think the game is more like a homage to Mother 2, but at the same time, it holds its own quite well, in regards to storyline. As one of themes go, it's heart-rending.

To go back on topic, a PSP or DS video game, it's not that important to me. If it were on the PSP it would be beneficial because, again, the handheld can use more original titles, and if it were on the DS, you could add some innovation to the game.

It's always good to meet another Earthbound fan. I want to play Mother 3 pretty damn badly, but importing and having to translate it myself is a lot of trouble to go through. I'm still holding out for an official English version, preferably a North American one. If the DS rumour is true it'll make my day. The fact that it's a DS game makes a NA release more likely, Mother 3 was released so late in the GBA's lifespan that I'm not surprised Nintendo didn't bother translating it. I've heard that one of the guys that translates for Nintendo is a huge Earthbound fan though, so hopefully that'll help.

Since you post on Starmen you probably knew all this though ha.

I didn't have too much trouble translating the game while playing it. The cutscenes were all translated, so those weren't an issue, but I didn't get to read a great sum of the Non-Player Character dialogue, which is a big appeal in the Mother series, as they tell you amusing comments, and sometimes will even throw in some political humor.

Other than that, it's been smooth sailing. The game is relatively easy, but I have found some bosses to be rather difficult. For instance, in Mother 2, you could fly through 99% of the bosses with ease, if your party were strong enough, but in Mother 3, you have to fight to survive at times, if you're not prepared.

One thing I'm having trouble on are the items--while they show you pictures of the items you're carrying, and would like to buy, it's difficult for me to distinguish them from each other since they're in japanese characters, and I can't follow the translation guide because this computer doesn't have asian characters installed. :'( That is rough, but as you experiment what each item does, you remember what each one does.

Also, likewise, it's nice to talk to a fellow Mother fan on this forum.

Edit: So I was a little too enthusiastic. ;P
