I like cats better than dogs...but when it comes to the very small versions, I like puppies better.I used to think this too, until I got to know a couple of dogs well. One, I wish I didn't know at all because he was mangey and things were always growing on him and then falling off inconveniently and oozily. But the other, man that dog is one of the most intelligent animals I've ever met. There is something in her eyes, like she is just THAT close to understanding it all.

My cat is a hybrid of cat and dog. He watches me from the window and comes & meets me at the front door. He runs to me when I call for him, he rolls over when he sees me and when I ask him to, he meow-talks at me. He absolutely knows that my son is away and stands outside of his door and cries these long mournfully meows. That part is so weird for a non-dog type to do. He's the Prius of cats.

KITTENS! They know how to use kitty litter from the get-go, whereas you have to train puppies and clean up after bunnies.

Plus, kittens are far cuter. I want a kitty because my remaining cat is now down in NC with my parents. Plus, if I get a kitty, I can then take back the meds we bought for Nikki in her remaining days to the vet and get a $40 credit (it was unopened). They said they can't refund my money but they could give me a credit - but I need a pet first. If only I could convince my brother. :(

I had a cat like that. His name was Bogey. He would play fetch. Damn good cat. I miss him.:(Ahh, Bogey. Cats like them are rare but I hope one finds his way to your household again one day.

I have a fucked-up cat living on my porch. He's completely confused and all turned around. He lived there a few years ago and then went off and now he's back and he's only gotten worse. He looks and sounds like something out of Stephen King's Pet Sematary and he hisses and hunches at me yet he purrs and in the middle of hissing and hunching, he'll rub against my leg. It's like he's all wired wrong inside. But he's out there and he's hot and seriously demented so I put food/water out there and I do pet him up and I bought a cat house for him which he doesn't use and a skunk uses instead but I at least try because I figure maybe being nice to him is what brought my wonderful prius/hybrid cat to me. Good deed repaid maybe. So selfish of me.
