There are some sort of drunk skanks outside of my apartment, relentlessly knocking on my next door neighbor's door knocker ever 2 minutes. He's got a doorbell that no one can hear from the outside, try ringing it.

Anyways! More important things. I've got a friend who goes out 2-3 times a week, gets drunk, and drives home drunk. Do I do an intervention, call the cops, give the police his license plate number, talk to him myself, slap the shit out of him? He really REALLY needs to stop and I have no idea how to do that. My friends don't want to call him out because they live with him and don't want him to be angry - but I said I'd rather have a pissed off friend than a dead one.

Anyone else have to deal with this stupidity?

Aren't you worried? Do you want to say something to him and have no idea how to bring it up? Either way, that sucks.

I'll tell you what I would say----pass the joint Bogart.

Definitely let them know how you feel. That's what true friendship is all about.
(And fuck Hallmark for making that sound so corny. It's just truth.)

Yeah, I'm sure he'll think so too when he sees how badly fucked up his car is. He hits things when he drives home, the depreciation on that car has got to be astounding.

He got pulled over by a DC cop too - apparently the "coolest" cop he had ever come across because he was honest and told him that he drank about 11 oz of vodka and went driving, and the cop just told him that he needed a sober driver and he'd wait for him to get one. My friend then told me after that, if he had actually been ticketed or charged, he would have moved back in with his parents and straightened his life out. But, since he didn't have any kind of punishment, back to partying!

You lose 50% of the value on a new car as soon as you buy it.
