So last fall my friend Alyssa tells me that she needs a theme speaker for the big Unitarian Universalist conference in Ohio this summer. She needs someone that the young adults will find engaging. So she told me that I was gonna be it. And they would pay me about as much as I make in a week at work. So basically, go on sort-of vacation for a week and get paid for it. And give a presentation to the UUYAs (Young Adult = Age 18-35).

So I decided to give a presentation on Talents. Life being all crazy like it is I didn't work on my presentation until the week I was going. And by "work on" I mean I did a loose outline kinda thing.

So it was really quite awesome. By mid week the Youth & the YAs were going around campus like "Did you know there's a UU Rapper?" And I would get stopped and asked to perform. I've never performed that much in one week before. I got plugged into just about everything where there was performance or speaking space available.

Then they actually ended up paying me twice what they agreed to pay me! WOAH!

Also, at midweek I read from one of my books at worship. So by the end of the week everyone was asking me about my book and buying copies of my books. And now people are sending me feedback about what they think of my books.

Plus the whole week was kinda like a hippie paradise. Bicyclists everywhere you looked on campus. Whole families biking together to and from each event. Plenty of vegetarian food, fresh air, exercise, meaningful conversation, attractive people, etc., etc.

I can't believe I've had this much fun already this summer and Opus (the UU conference for YA only (happens in August)) hasn't even happened yet.

AND my friend Alyssa gave me an "I<3 > 1" pin from the UUPA (UU Poly Awareness) that I can wear to Opus so that the hugging can just start out on day 1. GO TEAM!

Polyamory both baffles and intrigues me.

Glad things are going well for ya. (y)
