Yeah, I remember seeing that opening weekend and thinking it was like the greatest movie ever.

Man I remember all the hype leading up that that shit. Fox like ran a fake newscast the night before it opened trying to stir up like some War of the Wolds type shit. Craziness.....10 years damn

Still haven't seen it.

I remember when the trailer hit, though. The White House blew up and my buddy and I were like, "Holy SHIT!"

Then the movie came out, and word was "holy shit" was only half right. :D

oh man, me too. it was my favorite movie as a kid (i don't know why), but i always looked away at that scene.

Over the past decade ID4 has become so bad it's fucking awesome.

What makes me kinda sad is that there really aren't "event" films like that anymore. Sure, you've got your pirates and supermans etc. But ID4 fucking ruled the Summer of '96. There was no other movie to see, and you people know it.

We Americans don't have the time or patience to pronounce entire movie titles.
