i thought smile was light and breezy and good enough and all, but nothing to wet my panties about. i was more feeling the jamie t (http://www.beastieboys.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=68302), myself. much more exciting musically. maybe they should get together and have british ghetto babies?

but after reading the guardian's gushing (http://arts.guardian.co.uk/reviews/story/0,,1819663,00.html) review of her album and the horror that she wasn't nominated for the mercury prize [not to mention the immediate infamy garnered from seeing her left boob briefly in the sun or something this morning on a drugged-up bender], i think i am maybe missing the boat.

has anyone heard the album and can comment on it? i should download it when the bloody talktalk broadband comes, next century.

I honestly can't even think what that Smile song sounds like but every newspaper or magazine I pick up seems to have something about her in it, and on that basis, I am already disliking her.

she is pretty shit. the single was a good summery tune, but the rest of the album sounds rushed, like less effort has gone into it.

Dunno the name though. I'm still trying to figure out if I like the album or not. It is moderately light and relatively breezy with a slight chance of wind blowing up my ass.

smile is the poorest of what i've heard, tbh, and that's a good song. knock em out is too (my #2 downloaded song of hers thus far)

the mixtapes that are streaming on her website (http://www.lilyallenmusic.com/) are fantastic, too.

funny how these are the only released singles. haven't listened to the whole album then, i assume? (honestly, people who hate 99.9% of the time are only hatin' cos she's popular and assume popular=shit, and have only heard those songs. once some people come with "she is 'crap' because of x, y and z" criticisms then i will start listening. until then, go flick yourself off to your 'only music which doesn't get to #1 and is uber underground and cool is good' bandwagon) those are actually a couple of the poorest songs on the album, tho LDN is quite awesome.
