Just deleted my user profile and recreated it, and the only things that stayed the same were my username and password. All my files gone, everything i've ever done on this pc.

Fucking wank. This pc has clearly had too much to drink.

Any ideas yo? I'd like to recover some of it.

did you reformat or just install on top of an existing installation?

I didn't do a fucking thing. I got the blue screen of death and IRC_NOT_MORE_OR_LESS_EQUAL or some shit and blernjwern, all gone!

check the system error log in event viewer under admin options in the control panel. arrange them by date, and check around the time it crashed to see what the error was. copy and paste it here.

I can search for my old files and i've noticed some come up and some don't. The filepath still has my username in it too, but when i logged in before it said it couldn't find it.

Anyway, system error log logged 603 errors.

Time for a new pc.

can you do a search for the files?


is it stuff on the hard drive or stuff that was in a "my documents" folder?

go to "C:/Documents and Settings"

and pick around those files and shit. normally on a fresh install there should only be two folders, "All Users" and "whatever your account name is". the older folders should be from the older accounts. check those older folders.

the machine I am on has 2,062 errors right now, that doesnt mean anything.


you gotta look for the log around the time and date it shit the bed and copy/paste what that says, assuming its stuff that wasnt just in My Documents...that would be where turd said it is.
