Heath Ledger. (http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/719/719898p1.html)

I'm quite disappointed, what with the rumors of Crispin Glover (Back To The Future, Willard) and Paul Bettany flying around.

I'll hold judgement 'till I see the final product, however...

Heath Ledger is a terrible choice.

I heard it was gonna be Johnny Depp or that big nosed Itailian dude that was in that was in Summer of Sam & the Piano movie.

I'd like to see Josh Hartnett as the Joker and Cuba Gooding Jr as Batman.

John Turturro?

He means Adrien Brody.

Who'd make a great Batman himself.

Crispin Glover I think would've been a bad choice, because he's got, like, zero range.

Heath'll be fine. I was actually hoping for Mackenzie Crook. (http://imdb.com/name/nm0188871/)

Heath Ledger? Seriously?

Yeah. His face is definitly elongated and prone to wide smiles. (n)

Crispin Glover was my personal choice. We've already seen what a creepy character he can play, he would have been perfect.

Well, I figure this: we know he can act more than a little.

We know Nolan 95% of the time casts his people well and directs them well.

-- and then I also think that, up until Johnny Depp went nuts with Ed Wood, he was pretty much typecast as a brooder or wounded puppy type.

So, yeah. Have a little faith.

And -- Heath does look several degrees batshit in that picture.

sure crispin is nice and creepy when hes doing his "im smelling hair etc" face but have you ever seen him smile, its way too white picket fence blarghhhh

heath's face structure is perfect to be joker
they'll barely have to put any prosthetic skin on his lil visage

Nicholson's rendition of the Joker will always be what other Joker interpretations are held up to. That is his role. Nicholson didn't physically look like the Joker, save for his maniacal smile, as Joker's appearance is somewhat lanky, but he made up for it with his performance...

Here's what he might look like (http://www.sigmirror.com/files/331/joker.gif)

I hated Nicholson's Joker, because it wasn't the Joker. It was Jack Nicholson, as Ceasar Romero as the Joker.

I'm in about 95% agreement, here.

The only moment where I really bought it was that underground doctor's surgery scene. There's this one little chuckle of anticipation he gives out that's just perfect.

By the way: they dismissed all our suggestions and decided to call the next one The Dark Knight.

Wasn't Ledger one of the homo-cowboys in Pokeass Mountain? Maybe they should change his character's name to The Stoker.

I love the new title, and yeah the doctor office scene gave me hope early on in the movie and then it went all downhill.

The museum scene... the scene giving out money in the streets... those were just bad.

As iffy as the movie was when it came out, it really hasn't aged well. Batman Returns was messy as hell, too, but at least it was interesting.
