I recently started mellowing out on the people hatred. because so many people do so many dumb ass things, it's no use getting all bent out of shape about it anymore. although I do get pissed off when I'm riding my bike and someone on another bike is riding in the wrong direction towards me on the street. that really makes me mad. happened twice yesterday. the second time, the dude gave me the thumbs up as I passed and I was like, "fuck you, I don't want your god damn thumbs up! ride on the correct side of the street ass face!" in my mind.

I concur. People just irritate me. A very small number manage to impress me in some way or another, and thus get my respect. A larger number manage to get a degree of respect by the (one would assume it to be) simple method of not being intolerable asshats. However, out of the people I meet, the vast majority of them are annoying, and a sizeable proportion of that majority are so because of some acute personality defect.

It is sad that life is such that people can go through it in some sort of autopilot daze without engaging their brain on any sort of level, oblivious to the world directly beyond their own personal benefit. Like the parents in a pub who let their kids throw food on the floor because, hey, they don't have to clear it up! Which somehow translates it to being ok, because it isn't THEIR problem.

(!) Don't move to RI, they are so nice I'm not sure if they are real. For example, suckers pull out into oncoming traffic from Dunkin Donuts and expect you to stop and wait for them as they wait for the right time to pull into traffic. I've had to slam on my brakes not to hit ppl, then they give a goofy smile and wave.
