I really like Weezer and I'm not embarassed to admit it.
Something Awful tore them apart the other day and it made me laugh.

this made me chuckle: "Rivers Cuomo, in effect, is one of the main reasons your little brother is such a queer."

The author is so biased against them, that it's hard to take the interview seriously and read through to the actual facts.

1. The whole article/column is a joke
2. There is no interview
3. The column is called "Your Band Sucks" (of course he's biased)

I stopped paying attention after the green album.
I stopped paying attention after the blue album.
Aww, come on - you should've stuck around for Pinkerton.

I had to edit. I meant to say Green and in my sleepy haze said Blue.

Even though I know that column is meant as a joke, I can often get my blood boiling over reading those. :D
Anyways yeah, that is pretty lame of Rolling Stone to do an about-face and go from declaring "Pinkerton" awful to a masterpiece. Either get it right the first time or stand by your original stance. Stop the revisionism...

Weezer will be one of the easiest bands to "get over it" I've ever enjoyed. I purchased two of they're CD's and used to occaisionally checkout the bands website. When that last CD came out it dawned on me they were afraid to change or expand beyond the formula of quirky buildups and fuzzy guitar release. Quirky buildup and fuzzy guitar release quickly becomes lame.
I always thought before i figured the "formula" they may have had the ability to really drop a "Classic" but the last CD with that "Beverly Hills" song laid an egg IMHO.
They did always think up pretty good videos.
RIP
