Why'd it go out? That's so weird, I went without power for 2 days but got it back but there's still areas with no power. Probably not for the same reason though (tornados). And 8 days, that's some crazy shit.

i've got power... i got flooded pretty good on friday but i still had electricity to run a water vac. that and disinfecting everything was a pain in the balls but nothing got ruined since i have things set up just in case. im on the periphery of town that wasnt affected but there were cops and hovering news choppers all over. i think i saw (http://snltranscripts.jt.org/96/96mchopper4.phtml) chopper 4 (http://www.videosift.com/story.php?id=2793)! reminds me of my old apartment where id wake up every morning to the sound of traffic copters whirring close to bridges. a lot of small local business have lost thousands of dollars and people are calling for the ceo of con ed to resign. im calling for the president or whatever of the mta peter kalokow to resign. i sometimes have to wait for three or four crowded trains to pass in the morning before i can fit into one!

woops, I posted this in political discussion:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/5209276.stm

once again another year of record high temperatures and the energy crisis they "incur".

Either the infrastructure of this country is in some serious disrepair or the energy Dons are playing politics to gain more momentum to go nuclear.

major cities are in states of emergency, getting very volatile, and citizens are suffering. Keep striving for freedom in the middle ea$t, our country can wait for you to pay attention to it.

although I'm no bush basher, more than .01% of Queens is without power... 100,000 people have been affected since this started, and there are still pockets that have no timetable for a return to normalcy...

i blame the heat wave and ConEd's irresponsibility to give an accurate timetable or explanation to elderly residents who need medication and air-conditioning ...

blame god it was his thunderstorm. also don't blame ConEd not unless you fully understand the complexity of the grid that feeds queens.

that shit is crazy because it's one of the more densely populated areas of queens thats been fucked. they're trying to hold coned responsible for the deaths due to heat and lack of electricity. i mean, what if youve got sick children and that? what the hell are they supposed to do? the day of that big storm (it was last sunday!) i kept on worrying that our lights would go out or that a tree would fall on the house. i was paranoid. it was a scary fuckin storm, but then the next day, everyone was like "oh it's ok, everyone's ok." and they said only 2000 households were without light that night. liars. :(

i just said i blame the weather as the main cause of the problem, and Coned for lying to their customers...

is this situation freaking anyone else out? I cannot remember when the entire world, or a huge chunk of it, was at such extreme heat levels as it is now.

We were having really hot days here in San Diego and it was very humid when it's almost NEVER humid here. Now, it's still hot and humid, and the clouds are rolled in and it rained yesterday. When it rains here, it's usually December and cold (relatively out), but never ever during the summer, and never while it's warm outside.

What the fuck.
