I quit my stupid restaurant job this morning. After two years of hell, I am FREEEEEE.
Just thought I'd share because I am extremely happy and extremely fucked at this moment.

Well done! I have started to look for a new job too. As much as I love surfing and chatting on msn because my work is so dull, it's turning my head to mush

I could go for a little fun in the sun right now. Technical support has jaded me beyond belief and sucked the lifeforce right out of me. (n)
I heard garbage men make a pretty penny. hmmm..

to consolidate any memories you have of the place, let me know one thing:
what was their best dish?

even if it's not your long-term plan, it's better to enjoy your job at least a little bit instead of sticking with one that's making you miserable.
You got some talent miss, you will kick ass at whatever you chose to do.

Cooper's BEST dish.. Hm...
I can't think of any to be perfectly honest. It's their bars (4 of 'em) that bring in the money. Their food has gone to shit in the recent years. Best seller would have to be the crab bisque, though.
But if I really, really HAD to choose; the Coral Reef pasta (y)

It got to the point where I'd gag every morning before my shift, so I knew it was time to go. Not worth the stress, and the pay was minimal. Picking up the slack for my fellow/female hostesses was no treat, either. Not to mention receiving ZERO recognition for anything, and a manager having called me "stupid" and "retarded". :) Fun.
As much as I love art, the biz itself is hit or miss. It hasn't gotten me anywhere and probably WON'T. There are so many artists far more advanced in their talents than myself, and I don't take to criticism very well. So, I dunno... :( I'm thinking about phlebotomy.

i've been there. it does feel revitalizing to quit a job you hate, but then being unemployed for a long time isn't good times either. as a rule of thumb, i don't do restaurants anymore. my dad owned a couple of them during my childhood, and now, we're out of that business, thankfully. i'm happy to be doing something else.
i've always seen art-related careers as extremely difficult to succeed in, but then, you can always be an art teacher or something. that's what zorra is going to do eventually.
