My best friend and I keep pulling together costumes. Constantly. I'm working on another one right now, I drew out the ideas and now I'm going to put it together with my best friend to break out this weekend.
I really think we have a horrible addiction. We cannot be stopped. We feed off each others ideas, make the outfits, and go nuts. We always have ideas churning in the back of our heads at all times. That or we see one particular piece, be it a crazy pair of shoes, or a unique shirt that we can cut and modify, and that will set us off.
Eh, at least it's not herion.

you call it a problem, others would call it a calling. maybe your friend is showing you a direction you could go in with your life.

If my wife would let me I would put together a serious kickass Darth Vader costume. I'd only wear it on Halloween. Oh, and Christmas.
Who am I kidding, I'd wear it every weekend.

costumes for what??
just because. seriously.
and you know Paulina, in the back of my mind I was thinking about how I always go to stores and I get irritated because I don't like anything they offer. Hence my friend and I come up with new things or turn the boring stuff in to something new.
Although I don't know how driven I am to make such things for more than just her and I though haha. But perhaps as something to dabble in, it might be cool.

I was always so disappointed by that dress. Seriously. I know it was the 80's but it could have kicked ass.

I work with alot of creative ppl at my job, and every year we all try to out-do each other with Halloween costumes. I've known guys who drop 3oo bucks and 2 months of their life getting ready.
My Design Director dressed up as a Ghostbuster one year, had his real name embroidered to the jumpsuit, and made the backpack exactly the same as the movie. Then he came out halfway through the night with Marshmallow all over him. Funny stuff.
Last year I bought a 200$$ Gorilla suit and made my own Frank the Bunny Mask. I tacked on the white patch on the front, even got the same shoes Frank wears in the movie. I started out the evening as Donnie Darko, I bought a Skeleton suit and blacked out my eyes with the hoodie. Pretty fresh.
There is a guy who is already making his own chainmail here at work, out of thinly sliced pieces of PVC pipe. He has a 3 x 3 foot section built already.

yeah I think it has a lot to do with being creative. That Ghostbuster one is awesome, I would love that.
I can't help myself! This is one of my hobbies Mr. Mickill.
Drawing. Painting. Costume making. Web design (not in to the coding element but I do the coding to get the visual I want). Dancing. All these things are consuming me. It's all I ever want to do. It makes me happy. At least I have a job in one of those things and am pursuing a long-term job in another. Just sometimes I am so obsessive over it all I have to double check to make sure I'm not going completely crazy.

so do we get pics or is it all to the imagination:rolleyes:
We get pics once in a while - she's tactful in not posting a jillion pictures though.
I'm still waiting to see a hardcore classic 70's PUNK outfit.

hell yes. I am starting a new job soon (hopefully they like me and it pans out) and a lot of it entails going to themed, night life happenings. that outfit will definitely be in the works.
I have to set aside a budget for these things though. It gets expensive.

I remember reading a story once about a guy that used to drive around Manhattan in the early eighties selling shoes out of the trunk of his car. His name was Kenneth Cole.
If you have a gift then just fasten your seatbelt and hang on tight. You never know where it's gonna take you.

thanks, hardnox (y)
Uh, blah blah what they all said. I never stopped to think you put all of those things together yourself. Being as young as you are I think you can only improve from this point. and addiction is too negative of a word. I think you're looking for drive.
p.s. i'm probably going to be Snake this year for halloween. (http://www.maj.com/gallery/JackNapier/MGS/metal-gear-solid-3-snake-eater-20041116024818065.jpg)

Yeah, me too. Make me something that's pretty and not tight in the chest, and not shapeless because I went shopping today and those were my choices.

I only skimmed this thread so forgive me if I get anything wrong but I don't see anything bad about what you're doing. My first set of roommates and I used to go thrift store shopping together and come up with some awesome costumes that we'd wear out that weekend. We were always the life of the party for it too. If nothing else they make great conversation starters. I say if you and your friend are having fun it's worth it just for that.
