in San Diego they had the fans interview the boys this morning "Awesome I f'in Interviewed the Beasties" or something along those lines. I'm a little upset I didn't know about this before but hey I got to tune in at least.

The last guy on the radio started saying how he loves their music but they should stop being "so political" because he just wants to listen to their music. Of course I wanted to call in and argue and verbally smack around the guy but the DJ went on to say:

"This is 'Awesome I f'in Interviewed the Beasties' not 'Awesome I f'in Argued with the Beasties' !!!!!!!!"

I laughed. Yeah, not all that interesting but hey I thought I'd share. I still want to go argue with that guy though. ha.

i do'nt care a helluva a lot about the politics, but i still have to agree with the guy, they just need to get back to basics lyrically, i don't wanna hear any more about how much bush sucks, we know he does, so don't keep hammering it into our heads

give me four suggestions for topics they can rap about WITHOUT going back to anything they've covered before.

thing is though, it's their music. I've always gotten the impression from the boys that they do this for THEM. They do it because they love it. The fact that people ended up loving their shit just worked out because they are that good. This isn't a smacked together, only here to make money band. This is a band that puts out their thoughts, it's what they love, it's THEIR art. If you don't like the news then press eject.

It's like telling freagin artist, a painter, not to paint something because it doesn't interest YOU. If you don't like what they are doing, move on.

Seriously....a few days ago I was listening to TT5B....the volume was too high so my mom entered my room and sayd "Turn off this shit! What a fuck....you don't need high volume to hear 3 dumbs talkin' about fuckin', drinkin' and getting drugs...."...and that was the moment that I told here "come on..let's check google and try to READ what they talk about....I've been proud of showing her that not all the Hip Hop music talks about shootin0 guns and Ladyes with big boobs!
At least, I like theyr subjects...and I'm glad to realize that ok, they have fun playing their music, but they care about serious things too...and anyway..I'm not american! :)

And yeah I didn't hear about the whole thing until it started. They announced it locally to call in about questions at 6am. Yeah, I was asleep.

you can screw off first of all with the whole move on bullshit, i was just saying that i don't wanna hear bush this and bush that throughout the next album too, mention it here and there, but i hate people shoving stuff like this in my face for a long period of time. One album is cool, doing it constantly through the next album would be overkill

All I'm saying is: this isn't YOUR music. Sure, pleasing the fans may be good but that's not how they started off. The love doesn't come from PLEASING JUST THE FANS. They love the music.

I think it's extremely self-centered for someone to think that a musician should revolve their music around what the FAN wants to hear.

it's what the fan doesn't want to hear my friend. I'm obviously still going to listen to their music whether they do it or not, hell, the politics thing doesn't really bother me tha tmuch, it just reminds me of the dixie chicks who were trying to push their anti-war beliefs on people while americans were over in iraq dying. I think it came acrossa s if i really hate them rapping about bush etc. ...i don't hate it, i'm just not crazy about it when they can write just as good of lyrics about just about any other subject (as they've shown over the years)

ease up on the lady, she is right about art, and peoples perceptions of it.

youre mad about something that hasn't happened yet. seems like some things are just too much for simple minds. there was only one actual song devoted to bush, and one other line on the whole album. we got the is more a positive incitement for action to affect change (no matter how weak). you must be hurting.

i read a lot of your posts about what you dont like, and what seems wrong to you, yet i don't recall you offering actual alternatives, or ever really liking ANYTHING. but thats cool, this is the internet, so i dont want to trip. lets just say that you could be a little more grateful.

minus the grateful you're right, my outlet for negativity is the internet, the beasties are my favourite group ever. That is all

I think that they knew this (that ppl would be negative with their contents) before theyr last album editing....and I think they just didn't care... It sounds like "This is how we do...if you like it enjoy..." and "If you don'ět like the news then press eject!"....I mean... why go mad about it? What is gonna change now? Nothing... I hope they keep on thinkin' on their own without influence of any kind... And...It makes me laugh to compare Dixie Chicks with 'em... I see 'em masked like Dixie Chick...nice idea!!!! :D

Haha, this reminds me of Consolidated's "Play more music" and "We just wanna party". The boys should put this on their next record.

Anyway, was this on the Comic-Con in SD or what?
