I'll give input on the two I listen to most (and I listen to them, a LOT so I figured it would be best).
Felix Da Housecat: everyone loves his earlier albums, as do I, but something about the most recent album I just absolutely love! Short Skirts, Ready 2 Wear, Romantique, What She Wants (which features the LCD Soundsysten from man on vocals),... yeah, Devin Dazzle & the Neon Fever (y) But if you want to go with the majority that people listen to, Kittenz & Thee Glitz is the one to go after.
Peaches: I like Teaches of Peaches and Fatherfucker almost equally. I can't help it. I think I may listen to Fatherfucker more though.
Honestly, I love both so much I rather just make you a mix CD of them. ha.
Well, I've got all the CDs from all the above bands, I just don't want to jump in half-cocked and get a bad impression.
Thanks for the advice (y)

I feel like I didn't help at all, but no problem. I'm a little obsessive about both Felix and Peaches so I feel like I cannot really articulate why I am such a fan or what exactly kicks about them. I just feel it in my groin, so to speak. :p

Oh man, I'm feeling woefully out of it. :(
Love and Rockets is one of those bands I've been wanting to get into, but haven't got around to it. Felix Da Housecat is one I've heard good things, but haven't check out yet. Ride actually sounds pretty cool, but I actually didn't know who they were until you said this (I just looked them up on AllMusic.com; they're a shoegazer band... cool!).
I'm feeling embarrassed since you called me out. :o
BUT... as for Black Flag, that I'll gladly inform you about. To determine if Black Flag is your bag, go with "Damaged." That's the all-purpose Black Flag starter kit. It's the first thing they did when Henry Rollins joined the band and it all-out kicks ass. If you're interested in early Black Flag, give "The First Four Years" a try. That's a compilation of various BF songs before Henry Rollins was the vocalist (Dez Cadena and others were the vocalists). While it's clear BF didn't become all-out awesome until Henry Rollins joined, these songs are some great, raw, sloppy punk rock.
As Black Flag progressed, they started going in a more of a sludgy, Black Sabbath-influenced type of metal (which would, of course, later influence lots of grunge music). Some people didn't like that direction, while others loved it. To see if taht era of Black Flag your thing, give "My War" a shot.
As for Peaches, I really don't have anything to add other than what BA01 said. "Teaches of Peaches" is my personal favorite, so far. But "Fatherfucker" is great since Iggy Pop is one of the songs and Peaches + Iggy = all-out orgasm! I'm hearing this "Impeach My Bush" (the latest) is great, too. I've got it, but haven't listened to it yet (along with a shitload of others I'm trying to get to, as well).

^ agreed, add to that some Boom Bip
I have a question...is this Felix Da Housecat the house dj?
Erm, yes. Silver Screen and uh...other songs. Like I said, I just got it.

I don't know if I'd just call him a house DJ though. If you hear Devin Dazzle, it reminds me a lot of Prince too. Or maybe I'm just crazy.

Felix Da Housecat I can only tolerate in limited doses. Hes good but I cant like....sit in traffic and listen to him. Its like any other music thats slightly faster than average, I need to be in motion or it pisses me off.
The chick that did the vocals on "Silver Screen Shower Scene" has an obnoxiously hilarious song called "Frank Sinatra"

I like her song Requiem For A Hit.
show me your tits, and lets make a hit
I'll beat that bitch with a hit
Is that what that line is from?
I drove to South Haven in Michigan the other day listening to this 2ManyDJs mix "50,000 Soulwax Fans Can't Be Wrong." I heard that line...also some Felix stuff and Peaches that reminded me I needed them. Not only do they have crazy awesome mixes on there, but they turn me on to so much good music. Check it out - they mixed in "Stand Together (http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~mwallac/Beastie_Boys_-_Stand_Together(2ManyDJs_mix).mp3)" on one of these 2 discs.

Love and Rockets is one of those bands I've been wanting to get into, but haven't got around to it.
Same here, cause I love the comic Love and Rockets.
Anyway, Black Flag's 1981 album Damaged is the best they made! Now I have to pop in "Rise above"!

You guys always make me dig into my vinyl collection! :D Which is actually good, cause there's stuff that I haven't been listening to for ages. So
Love and Rockets - I'd go for their album with the same name from 1989, it has the great tracks So alive and Motorcycle
Ride - well I was mostly into them in the beginning, their first EP Ride with Chelsea girl (where they mention the band's name on the first line of the song (Take me for a ride...), another first single at the time mentioning the bands name on the first line was House of love) and also their album Nowhere, which were great. But then again Carnival of light has How Does It Feel To Feel? and Going blank again has Leave Them All Behind, which Black Rebel Motorcycle Club covered once in London with Mark Gardiner (from Ride), Robert being a huge Ride fan, actually blaming Ride for getting into music in the first place. (BRMC saw Ride, or Andy Bell and Mark Gardiner, here in Stockholm on their first re-union gig, or actually second, cause they played the night before as well at Debaser, I was at both nights... and in London as well...)
Oh yeah and I got into Love and Rockets comics because of the band! Then I just continued buying all the books by both Hernandez brothers...

All right this is a little old, but.....
Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young - DEJA' VU
In my opinion its the best old school album ever.....
If thats a little too old for yuns, then.....
Cheap Trick - at Budokan
"This next one is the first song, on our new album"
Actually, I read a bunch of Love and Rockets and Hernandez brothers stuff a while before hearing about the bands. In my quest to build up a huge pop culture knowledge base I read some of those from the local library.
I stumbled across Ride and Love and Rockets the bands because I'm a big fan of The Dandy Warhols and BRMC...who were both apparently influenced by them a lot.

*sigh* Black Flag... I could listen to Henry Rollins just talk about whatever all day, his delivery captivates me. I don't even know where to begin. It's all so good. I'll just say a few of my favorite tracks that I feel in my groin, so to speak!
