You're the one that fills out the paperwork for a SS# and Birth Certificate.

So as long as you spell it right, they'll spell it right.

In the hospital they go by "Baby Girl (Insert Last Name)" or "Baby Boy (Insert Last Name).

After I was born, the nurse spelled by name wrong and it was wrong on my birth certificate. My schools were told the wrong spelling, so my teachers used to think I was a moron who couldn't spell my own name. When I was in 4th grade, my parents went to court to get my name legally changed to the normal spelling they had wanted all along.
