The album cover looks bad ass. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straight_Outta_Lynwood)

I've always appreciated what he's done over the course of his career. This should be good. Is anyone else looking forward to it?

I wanted to post the thread. I told you about it. ;)

Yeah, I love the album cover. I enjoy Weird Al's stuff.

Straight Outta Lynwood, crazy mutherfucker named Weird Al... it's gonna be good.

I was watching a part of UHF this morning. The part where Stanley gets hired by Weird Al. Haha. "We're friends now, George?!" :D

A parody of Chamillionaire called White and Nerdy, what's not to love.

SQUEEEEE!

He's one of the only bands I'd go out and buy the CD for. I usually don't like all the songs enough to want the whole CD, but he's definitely one of the exceptions. (y)

I'm sure he'd be happy to read that.

I heard about this a while ago....great news. The article says he's doing a Green Day parody....no doubt it'll be Boulevard Of Broken Dreams. This should be good. :D

^^^ Not to disrespect you dude, but why are you so negative on what seems like every band out there?

It seems like you're shooting down all my threads, music wise anyway. I mean, it's your opinion, of course - I respect that, but it's like you're overly-negative on everything.

Again, I'm not attacking you, so please don't take offense, but I was curious.

The Notorious LOL
07-27-2006, 11:06 PM
what other threads have you made that I shot down?

Miho Mingu
07-27-2006, 11:11 PM
Scratch that. I'll rephrase my question - why do you shoot down people's threads in general?

At least you're not offending people personally, but I don't understand why it's difficult for people to respect each other's preferences. It doesn't even add anything insightful to a thread.

I fail to see how anyone can "shoot down a thread" but I will second the notion that it seems LOL hates every single musician/band out there.

Then again, that could be an overgeneralization but if I think about it, I can only recall LOL posting about hating a band/musician.

I should add I don't give a shit either way.

Miho Mingu

It's not a big deal to me either, but I felt I had to bring it up. When I say "shooting down a thread", I mean having nothing insightful or informative to say, other than to dismiss an artist or mock others that like that music. It's one thing to say "I'm not into this band, and blah blah", but to make fun of others who like it ? For what?

Jurassic 5, Weird Al, and Ugly Duckling.

whats not to shoot down, exactly?

Miho Mingu
07-27-2006, 11:35 PM
That's irrelevant. To each their own. No set of preferences are perfect. You may hate them, but there are many that don't. I like those three, not as an obsession, but they're average.

But anyway, I don't want to start anything, and rile up people. I can see this is getting hostile. I'll drop it.

Actually, there are a handul of people that frequent this forum that have nothing but negative things to say about every single band that a topic is made about. I think it gets them off.

Cunts.

Im not sure which is funnier:

A). The fact that everyone is all bent out of shape over any sort of criticism of their music tastes.

B). The fact that that determination was made in a thread about Weird Al. Like...diss whoever, but please...not the Weird Al!!!!!!!!!!!

Miho Mingu
07-28-2006, 11:28 PM
HAHA...whatever - no hard feelings. I'm sorry I brought it up, NLOL. I was pretty beat the other night from work, and was getting easily irritable, I guess. I'll think about what I say in the future.

Say whatever you want about artists. It's just...what sucks, is when you comment on an artist or album negatively, you can almost always expect some dick to harshly insult you for putting down their FAVORITE ARTIST IN THE WORLD.

I wasn't so much nagging you about that, but that you hate on a lot of artists, but whatever, I change my stance. Why give a damn.

SO YO, WEIRD AL! HOW ABOUT HIM, HUH?!

He's quite a man. It was sad that his elderly parents died from carbon monoxide poisoning in their home, while they were in their sleep. It must've crushed Al.

The Notorious LOL

I used to dig him ever since day one. It's just get down and have a good time music.

He said, Luke stay away from the darker side and if you start to go astray, let the force be your guide oh my Yoda

Yo-yo yo yo yo Yoda

I know Darth Vader's really got you annoyed but, remember if you kill him then you'd be unemployed, Oh my Yoda

I think it's because Weird Al was a big deal for most of us when we were kids, so you hit a nerve with all of us.

But yeah, Weird Al is awesome. "Eat It" and "I'm Fat" and "Smells Like Nirvana." Case closed. :D

Choice "B" is definitely funnier. I laughed really hard.

Weird Al reminds me of Gallagher. But didn't he do a funny interview with Mike D? If so, he gets points for that.

I always thought he did "We're an Accordian Band (http://www.thosedarnaccordions.com/audio/accordionband.mp3)", but I always thought wrong.

He is mildly entertaining, I have nothing against the Weird Al, up here in Seattle a local band called "The Squirrels" has been doing this parody musical stuff for years in a much funnier form, but hey thats just my take.

We do it all day at work, make up different lyrics for mainstream songs.

Those lyrics made me LOL when I heard them, especially the way he sings it.

I just bought UHF. There's some laughable moments (and not in a good way) and some genuinly funny moments.

I'm starting a petition to get Raul's Wild Kingdom on TV.

How can you not love a show where they throw poodles out of windows?

I find it pretty funny that Chamillionaires Myspace (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=4789608) has the Weird Al parody on it. I guess its pretty cool hes got a sense of humor about it.

White And Nerdy music video. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFyXdrpuZrE)

The funniest part on the video, was the beginning, when Weird Al was walking up to the guys in the car, and they were getting frantic, locking their doors.

Don't Download This Song music video. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4ugh3J7dKk)

Nice animation. I liked the hand-drawn style.

The album will be released as a DualDisc, with the DVD side including the album mixed in 5.1 digital surround sound, instrumental versions of all songs (with optional on-screen lyrics for karaoke), a nine-minute documentary, and a 24-page full color booklet.

The album releases September 26.

The "Polkarama!" music video. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCAt9WcCFbM&NR)

The Candyshop version sounds happy-go-lucky. This new polka compilation is decent, but I still think "Angry White Boy Polka" is the best one.
