how do you know if beef jerky has gone bad and it ok to eat?

anyone know? i eat it because its high in protein which i need a lot of, i like salty shit and its low in fat. but sometimes i'll get a bag and not be sure about eating it. if it looks super dry or flaky... i dont know - howdya know if its ok to eat?

Depends on the jerky. Store bought jerky will last a good long time because they have preservatives. Home made jerky will only last a week or so depending on how well its stored. Either way jerky will be always best when fresh.
