All flights out of there for troops at the end of their deployment are canceled, while the military tries to figure out how to make Baghdad safe.
This doesn't sound like a stop loss order but rather a "We're just not going to let you leave" attitude. The soldiers are now being held captive to this war even if they have served their tours and were on their way home.

I can't see this winning any hearts and minds from the military, families, and veterans towards this administration. Even though it is a voluntary military, there should be some form of checks and balances to keep the military ready and refreshed. They are forcing soldiers to stay; soldiers who are battle worn, psychologically wasted, and want a respite from this war. Nothing good will come from this.

I read about that today at work. I feel horrible for them. Another possible 5,000 troops into Baghdad too.

I'm so, so glad my friend is home now. He needs to be with his wife and daughter.

The canceled flights situation sucks. My little brother is supposed to get to come home in Sept.

Yesterday at work a KID came in to ask directions to a local gym. I noticed he had an amputated leg with a prosthetic leg on. He noticed I had a 'support the troops' wrist band(and yes, you can support the troops without supporting the admin. They need it the most) and said thank you to me. I was floored and could only say no, bless you, man. This kids only 20. Can't even buy a beer and already is deformed by this unending war. Ruined my day and made me think of my bro. This shits gotta end.
