I've gotten stiches on my eyebrow with no anesthesia, had my wrist slashed, gotten kicked in the nuts, burned myself numerous times, had a skull fracture, gotten stiches and staples removed... from my head. But never, ever have I experienced a pain as excruciating as yesterday.

My first kidney stone. Thankfully it didn't damage my sweet rod but the swollen kidney part was as though hell's sewage drainage pipe was emptying out into it. I wouldn't go to the ER even if I chopped a finger off but this shit had me panic attacking all over the place. And projectile vomiting. And feeling old. Until I realised the shit's hereditary. Boo! (n)

So yeah kidney stones can make the hardest motherfuckers get bitch twinkles in no time flat. Shit.

yep, it's the buildup in the kidney that got me the worse. It even hurt more than the initial passing of the stone.

I turned white, had cold sweats and started shaking and buckled over. It was like someone had a grip on my kidney and was squeezing it with all their might.

I have broken my arm, a few toes, my nose...but for me, the worst is getting shots...or when I have to have blood taken, I'm a fainter if I see if leaving my body I flip out.

I hear kidney stones are insane. Hang in there man. The pain is the weakness leaving the body...and it makes ya tougher.

It could have been a lot worse. I had two major shots of pain but I pissed that bitch out with no problem. I guess I have a huge man penis. I did in fact save it and I'm gonna have to get it looked at by my doc. I could put a pic of it in Sure Shots! lzozl

Some dude in the ER was telling us how he had to piss three of them out at once. The sucky part was that THEY WERE ALL FUSED TOGETHER! I'm never drinking caffeine related products again.

Oh yeah I got some Loritabs too. (y) (y) EEEEEEEEYYYYY!

p.s. ITS A BOY! I named it Shitty McFucknuttz

can women get them?

ericlee

can women get them?

yes but men are more prone to get them:

Some people are more likely to get kidney stones than others. Men are more prone than women, and people who have previously had a kidney stone have a 60% chance of getting another stone within seven years. Other factors include:

a family history of kidney stones,
being aged between 20 and 40,
taking certain medicines such as diuretics (water tablets), antacids and thyroid medications,
having only one kidney,
eating a diet high in protein but very low in fibre,
becoming dehydrated by not drinking enough fluids or living or working in a hot place,
having poor mobility (eg, being confined to bed),
having an ileostomy, eg, for Crohn’s disease.

They vary in size from as small as a grain of sand to as large as a golf ball.

Mine were just a little bit bigger than the head of a pencil and it hurt. There's also many different shapes and the one that scares me the most is the spiked kind. They have damn spikes on them. I don't even want to imagine the spiked kind being the size of a golf ball.

Very good idea! I'm pretty much stone free (I think?) and I'm assuming, after researching this a bit, not taking good care of myself lately was a big factor. Mix that with the heredity and bingo. I figured getting shot and having your home blown to bits would be a lot worse than passing a pebble through your urinary tract. So I'm feeling better. Thanks everyone.

You had me at the awful stories of your stone, then the pics, and the 3-pointer was the suspicious 'energy drink' story. Shit made me fall out of my chair.

i dislocated my knee on saturday playing soccer. that was fucking painful, and the strongest pain killers my useless housemates could get me was home brand paracetamol. my knee's still pretty swollen. i should put a pic up, the difference in knees is pretty massive

Oh man that's pretty bad too. One of my pals pops theirs back into place and just about throws up every time. I'm hoping it doesn't become chronic or anything. It. Gets. ANNOYING. So be careful.

i've popped it a couple of times before, but this was prolly the worst of all. my knees are pretty fucked from playing rugby for 10 years tho. i heard that once you've dislocated something it's easier to dislocate at again

You are correct. Not even reconstructive surgery can help, in some cases. I am from the US but I can relate to your desire to play futbol/rugby. Therefore I have no comment.;)

oh your poor wickle bunny, et! i would make you some scotch broth and look after you if i were there.

pain, eh?
having my big toe-nail wasn't too pleasant. needles next to bone isn't very nice, and neither is the silent rip of nail. but i wasn't as bad as i expected.

i still maintain that the worst "normal" pains you can have are period pains, hangovers, and toothache. god! imagine all of them at one time. bastard!
