funny thing about that band, they played a street fest in my college town and my friends were like, "hey, we're gonna go see ekoostik hookah" and I said, "what?" and they said, "ekoostik hookah" and I said, "a coosen hook what?" and they had to scream "EKOOSTIK HOOKAH!" but I still didn't understand. I don't think I knew was a hookah was. I always thought those jam bands were gay gay gay, I WAS NEVER A HIPPIE OKAY!



ugh, my birthday was kind of a drag actually. it was really hot. I had more fun on friday night, but nothing spectacular happened. I hung out with my drama-free friends all weekend, rather than the scenester set (they were all at the pitchfork music fest). no boys, except one I used to like years ago was in town and we said maybe 2 sentences to eachother. I hooked up with my fake boyfriend friday night and worked during the day on saturday. I went to dinner at a turkish place, but mostly everyone backed out because of stink pitchfork. I did however win a raffle at the restaurant! I won a party for 20-50 people with free appetizers! and we can smoke hookahs...which brings us back to the beginning.


I hate my birthday. although cordo did get me a gift certificate to trader joe's, a subscription to Readymade magazine, and a couple of Kinks CDs. and my other roommate got me a delicious birthday cake from the bakery they used to work at together. it was almond cake with creme brulee and strawberries, a butter cream frosting and a dark chocolate shell. fuckin' eh.

it was okay. nothing major. there's still beer and liquor left over and that's never happened before. I failed at partying. some cute boys who were friends of a friend showed up and they were very nice, but I was really hot and sloshed and super tired, so I didn't really talk to them much. it was a long day. also, the night before a bunch of people were like, "oh yeah, we're so pumped about your birthday party!" but then didn't come. :/ whatever.

AND NOBODY WANTED TO PLAY EUCHRE. assholes. that's all I wanted to do and nobody would play. some of my other friends that would've played were either getting ready to move, working, or in paris. hmph! :mad:

I know, that's what they said. they said, "NO! WE'RE NOT GOING TO LET YOU DO THE ONE THING YOU SPECIFICALLY ASKED FOR ON YOUR BIRTHDAY!" and then laughed at me. well, my bobbin said he'd learn it and play it, but I said, "that'll take too long" :(

The wicker park one was really good, and the Sarky band rocked! They had an accordine player!

Urge Overkill and Local H are playing the west fest. I may have some BBQ prior, keep ya posted.
