Ice T. Used to be an Army ranger. Not just anyone can be a ranger and the training is just about as strenuous as Navy SEAL training. Proof that he's one bad mofo.

because in Canada, where I'm from, we wait until people ask questions or continue the conversation, because unlike america, where i'm not from, they just bla bla bla rudely, never considering if other people find anything they say interesting...

but talking about Canada, the place where i was born and raised, is so very interesting, I'm sure people would love to ask me question about Canada, which is not America, and is the country where i'm from...

Next Saturday gonna follow the Pride parade, as every year. Probably only going to one club, don't need that disco crap they keep playing.
Then the week after that I'll have two weeks holiday, gonna go to quite a few gigs (unbelievable that they got gathered so together) and visit some friends in the archipelago.
At the end of those two weeks might go to Helsinki, had a friend over last week and feels like we have some unfinished business.....

I envy you and Dr. Deaf!

Let's see......

Gray has had Aiedyn for most of the summer, and I will be getting him back the night before school starts (August 8th). Then I will stop working so damned much since I won't be able to work nights anymore.

The only show I'll be going to is the one Aiedyn will be playing once he whips out his fish-shaped maracas and keyboard. Admission is free and everyone is invited.

I live and exciting life!

What in the world are you going to stay in Africa for? I got a job offer to work in either Morocco or the Ivory Coast but I'm thinking about it.Someone from here PMd me about how I talk about this stuff too much or a lot or something, so I thought that I ought not to do that (mention it) so much. I'll say that I'm going there to do some work.

Your job offer: getting paid to go there is so great and is an amazing opportunity to maybe do some other types of stuff while you're there. A chance to see that part of the world and get a paycheck too. Nice!

planning starts for a long stay in Africa
I am so jealous. I have always wanted to go there and I can't imagine how that's ever going to happen. [EDIT--I took out the question about what enree was going to do because I didn't notice that she had answered it -- and who in the hell told her not to talk about doing good things? That's crazy.]

I have quite a few concerts coming up -- mostly cheap ones. I am going to see X in a couple of days and I'd like to know whether they're the opening act or the main act. If tickets say "X and Y" who goes on last?

I am going to Seattle and Vancouver in about a month.

-oh yeah I think he's bringing mushrooms because I've never tried them
i have only taken mushrooms once, but i think i am a good judge. they are much less disabling than weed. much better; i would do it again. the only thing i can warn you about is the dosage. i took just enough to be blissing out - the main possible issue is that time goes by so slloooooowwwwlllllyyyyy. i kept on looking at the clock thinking about half an hour was gone when in fact it was about 20 seconds. bizarre but cool. we watched star wars. the mushrooms were in a chocolate mix. but my boyfriend took too much and started having hallucinations of darth vader and crying and saying he wants to marry me. that is all. (this was about 3 years ago).

anyway, re: this thread: umm, not much.
- belladrum festival up north where my flatmate is playing and i get to go to the after party and ceilidh dance with echo and the bunny men..
- wedding up in troon..
- open day at scottish screen academy where i am thinking of doing a film masters next year..
- lovely german friend tom coming to visit in september
- possible snowboarding holiday come january/february

Now I'm jealous.
I go to Seattle a lot now. Seattle is marvelous but I have family there so it's less marvelous than it would be on vacation.

I have always wanted to go to Vancouver. I'm going to be there only a short time so I'll get a little idea of what I might do next time. The funny thing is that Atmosphere will be in Vancouver when I am (and Seattle when I am). I'm not a huge fan, but I always go to their shows in odd places. It's funny how my vacation schedule matches their tour schedule.

[EDIT--I took out the question about what enree was going to do because I didn't notice that she had answered it -- and who in the hell told her not to talk about doing good things? That's crazy.]I've gotten a couple of notes about it and a couple before that (awhile ago). Not so much that I shouldn't do talk about the stuff, but maybe pointing out that I talk about it a lot.

edit: No one has asked me to stop talking about this stuff. That I'll back down from talking about it is a decision that's based largely on why I mentioned it in the first place. (I don't want people, even just a few, to associate anything negative with the stuff that I do. I intended for the opposite to be the case--to have people maybe think about what they can do in their own lives, no matter how small. But if even to a few people that talk is annoying or if I'm giving the impression of doing it too much, or of being self-serving, or whatever, then it's time to change that up a bit. It's okay, no biggie at all.)
